Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

    Trade or convert?

playing my franchise with the cards in about mid June 1 game back from first place but in a very tight race, and I now have every single 1st baseman on the 60 DL (Moss, Adams, and Ford) Moss is the closest to returning with about 20 days left but Adams and Ford just went on with 2 to 3 month long of a injury.

So, my question is do I convert Holliday as my every day 1st baseman and have Carpenter as my back up and wait until Moss returns or should I look for a trade of some sort. I can't make up my mind on it , so I'm looking for suggestions.

Does this statement hold true on Marakakis value with these stats Braves (36-55) out of it

      (G) 90 (AB) 313 (R) 35 (H) 104 (HR) 3 (RBI) 26 (SB) 0 (AVG) .332 (OBP) .402 (SLG) .428 (OPS) .830 (BB) 38 (SO) 32 (FLD%) .995 (E) 1 (INN) 746.1 (WAR) 2.78

      ****************************

and what about Beltran Yankees (45-45) 10.5 games back in division 6 game back of wildcard

      (G) 69 (AB) 278 (R) 34 (H) 86 (HR) 12 (RBI) 38 (SB) 0 (AVG) .309 (OBP) .351 (SLG) .525 (OPS) .877 (BB) 17 (SO) 39 (WAR) 2.79

would like to get both one for RF (Marakakis) and one to DH (Beltran) but money may be an issue as I'm playing with all true salaries with 14.4 million in cap space....

Looks like there putting up good numbers, may take up to a few mid-high C's or even low B's

I'm playing as the Braves and I am in need of 1 or 2 left handed bats for the bench. I'm in early May hovering around .500. I was looking at the Padres as a potential trade partner. Thinking about getting Brett Wallace or Jon Jay. Or perhaps both. What would you think about this for both of them?

          Braves get:
          CF Jon Jay
          3B Brett Wallace

          Padres get:
          RP Jason Grilli
          CF Drew Stubbs
          SP Jhoulys Chacin
          C- Prospect

Well thats not either in the realm of realism or value wise.. Grilli (BlueJays)+ Chacin (Angels) where give aways already this year. but besides that if the Padres are out of it why are they gonna want any of these OLD guys.... Look at giving them a few high C's or a low B for both....

Plus again STATS would be helpful to determine the value of Wallace + Jay

Go back to the drawing board on this one. That trade would never happen and is completely horrendous. Look at another team or give them more prospects and not old talent.

What about Chacin and two C prospects for Wallace? Wallace is hitting in the .230s while Chacin has 3.6 ERA. Padres aren't really out of it since its only a month into the season and sitting in the middle of the standings in the west.

Yeah I agree with AeJ, with those numbers I definitely think a team desperate enough for an OFer would give up a low B for him.

How come whenever I try to include recently signed FA 2B Jose Miguel Fernandez in a trade, the opposing team instantly says they are not interested in the deal even though it said they were on the trading block?

For some reason any signed player in season can't be included in any trade.

Update: didn't know it was a rule

                        It's an MLB rule.

With the run we've been on I think I'm desperate enough to pick up one of them. I'm 2 weeks away from the deadline so got a little time to get a package together. Thanks guys

Does anyone think the Rangers would make Gallo available?

They were roughly 5 games out of the AL West, need a SP, so:

                            Braves Get:
                            Joey Gallo

                            Rangers Get:
                            Julio Teheran
                            Rio Ruiz
AJ Pierzynski (they needed a backup C, and he was actually hitting .270 with 8 HR/25ish RBI's)

I think it's a balanced trade because of the inclusion of Ruiz.
                            Thoughts?

The Rangers hang up pretty quick on this one. Teheran is pretty good but not worth Gallo, not even close. Ruiz is pretty bad and AJ doesn't have a ton of value, even with those numbers he still doesn't bring back more than a Low-Mid C.

For the Rangers to give up Gallo it would have to be for a star, like a top tier SP.

So I started a 30 team control franchise and i'm sitting at the deadline in year 2 (simed whole first year)

Michael Brantley is in his contract year making 7.5million. In his expectation he is looking for a pay day of around 17.6 per. I won't be paying him that no matter how great he is playing right now. What can I get for him ? He would be classified a rental at this point.

                                He's 29 batting .334 with 18 homers and 46 RBI's
