Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
I think both of those packages would be too rich.
2 A's and 2 B's for a 29-year-old Sale with good stats (4 WAR at the ASB is very good for Sale) is still a bit rich considering that Glasnow progresses pretty nicely in most sims that I've done. I feel like it would be only one of those A's or the Pirates would bow out because they could probably get somewhat similar production from Glasnow. Any stats for the other players in these deals?
Abreu has good stats, although 2 WAR isn't spectacular, and at 31 he'll be regressing moderately over those 3.5 years. I doubt a 31-year-old Abreu fetches an A prospect in return, let alone 2 of them. Maybe subtract Reyes from the deal?
I think in both cases it would help to know a little bit--don't need a novel--about how the Sale suitors' rotations are doing and how the Abreu suitors are doing with their current 1B.
Glasnow was struggling at the MLB level with a 5+ ERA as the #5 in their rotation. His stats were also pretty poor in 2017. I went ahead and spoke with 37 over GroupMe and ironed out the Pittsburgh trade with him. It's a bit of an overpay and it is WS or bust for the Pirates who had the offensive talent but needed a guy to go at the top of the rotation with Cole. The rotation now becomes Cole-Sale-Liriano-Taillon-Locke.
I completed the season and the Pirates were the NL Champs but lost to Toronto in the WS.
I pulled the trigger for STL as well as they were getting no production out of 1B. Matt Adams was around .220 with 10 HR. STL has drafted very well and has a deep system that this doesn't impact too much. It was actually the same with PIT.
STL ended up 3rd in the NL Central so they look like the loser of the trade.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
i know what it says, i wrote it. and offensive and racist are different, you are the one spinning it to fit your agenda, just like you do in trade ideas.
oh no one letter didnt capital, the horror

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
So Boston fans love to include Swihart, but Walker doesn't cut it.
If you feel like it is overdoing it, you are probably about right on value. I try to overpay in my own franchise but to each their own. A completely healthy Mesoraco is worth more than Stewart, so it is probably alright to take the injury risk. His 2014 was a 4.5 WAR season, and since injuries don't happen as much in The Show as real life I do think it should hurt to acquire him. Maybe even switching to a 50 FV instead of Javier.
I don't remember if you posted in season stats for Corbin, if you did sorry I missed it, but I think that seems fair IF the Diamondbacks are out of it. Arizona is hard to judge since they have made some god awful trades lately.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
I'll never understand it. I can't think of another quality big league pitcher, not named Jon Lester, that the Red Sox have brought up in recent memory. Clay Buchholz has shown flashes but not consistent. Roger Clemens is the last one I can think of.Comment

Jonathan Papelbon. Dude is a clown but he was at one point the best closer in the league.

I think Daniel Bard could also be grouped into this category, obviously not anymore but when he first came up he was one of the most shut down setup men in the gamePSN: lxl_Porta_lxl

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Looking at trading Gallo and Profar for Jose Quintana. Most on mlbtraderumors think Gallo and Profar aren't worth Quintana. I didn't pose it to them as a video game question. It was more on the "White Sox should sell" debate.
what do you guys think?
Real life terms is what I'm basing my opinion on.Comment
