Hi Bard you have help me out in the past and I'm wonder if you could help me again.

I'm the Blue Jays and I want to improve my pitching. What would Carter Capps and Adam Conley cost me?
    Thanks.

      Hey man!

Conley will cost you a B and maybe a low C, Capps is tricky since he had surgery...so maybe two B's with one being a middle one and the other being a low one along with a C. If you have any stats I am better when I have those!

3rd or outfield. Ozuna + Nicolino for Cargo? Might be too much, but I'm not high on Marcell. You could land him though, do you have any stats?

Deal Ozuna for a low B + high C then deal the C and something like a utility player for Bruce. He is pretty cheap nowadays but has pop...heck depending on stats might just need to deal the C.

3rd base is tricky, if you have standings and stats it makes this easier haha.

I posted a couple pages back about a Pablo Sandoval and Matt Kemp swamp as the Red Sox side and saw the answer as to what it'd take to do. Would Pablo Sandoval, Trey Ball, Deven Marrero, and Michael Chavis be enough to get Matt Kemp and James Shields?

Urias would be nice to have. We have no use for Puig with our OF logjam. And Howie Kendrick is a MASSIVE downgrade at 2B.
How do you not jump at that deal? Gomez is awful and gone after the year, Rasmus is gone after the year, Springer plays 90 games a year, Kendrick is a solid 2nd baseman and Urias is an absolute monster. Or you could just flip Puig for god knows what.

Pablo Sandoval + Ball for Shields...if you add in Kemp you could take out Ball. Kemp isn't bringing in much value these days either. But for the sake of a trade...

              Red Sox Receive:
              James Shields
              Matt Kemp

              Padres Receive:
              Pablo Sandoval
Trey Ball - anyone not an A or top tier
              Sean Coyle/Marrero

Red Sox are taking on a lot of salary as well as dishing out.

Because it's Jose Altuve. We have a flourish of prospects in the minors that can replace said OFs. I would obviously love to have Urias, but not at the expense of Altuve. Luhnow won't let Rasmus walk and Gomez is trash so losing him is an upgrade.

Maybe it's because I'm not a fan of Puig. Bregman has been learning corner outfield so the need for OF is non-existent.

Altuve will and should be a lifelong Astros player. You don't let go of players like him unless you're rebuilding.

"Because it's Jose Altuve" isn't exact an irrefutable argument. He's a 4 win guy on a hot streak. He's a fantastic but not generational player.

There's no rule that says you can't just turn that into a 3 team trade and flip Puig for something.

Plus Altuve is frankly on a downward trajectory, and overrated (I say this as an Astros fan). If I'm the Astros I do this trade every time.

I don't think he's on a downward trajectory. He's in the last couple years of his peak probably, and on an extremely cheap contract, but Puig has already posted a season better than any of Altuve's, Urias is an absolute monster, and Kendrick is a good player.

The Rays will want Swihart for sure, but is he worth Blake? No. I'd say Chavis + Kopech/Ball. That'd be either two former firsts or a former first and a top pitching spec in the system. You're going to have to overpay for him. All of those guys are wild card considerable talents.

I'm in the offseason, but Holt performed pretty much how you'd expect:
                            .272 avg, .336 obp.

I was thinking of packaging Holt and some prospects for a different kind of bat. I just have too many players with the same skill set.

I was thinking along the lines of:Kike Hernandez, Delino Deshields Jr., or Ender Inciarte.

What would it take to make any of these work?
