Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

With pitching as a huge question mark for my Yankees franchise, I'm looking at making a run at some servicable young arms.

Any idea what the value would be for a Trevor Bauer or even a Tyler Skaggs?

What would it take for the Red Sox to get Matt Kemp out of SD? And would including a bad contract like Pablo Sandoval make things equal to start out?

Hey man, those are my targets, haha. I was thinking Nova + Gamel for Bauer, personally. I've asked about Skaggs before, I would think he'd cost a bit more. I think there was a Gardner for Skaggs rumor during the offseason.

IMO to get any of hose guys you would be looking at any package built around (SS) Jorge Mateo, (OF) Aaron Judge, (C) Gary Sanchez, (RHP) James Kaprielan, (SS) Wilkerman Garcia or (RHP) Domingo Acevedo. One or two of these guys headlining the trade with some lower prospects.

If you are giving the Padres a high level prospect with Sandoval then I can see them taking on his contract. Not just because that's a bad deal but it's a bad deal because he can't stay on the field.

Even tho Kemps deal pays him more over the next four years 21.5 mil a year. But he's the more productive player. But I can see this being done

          Boston Gets

          Kemp

          Padres Get

          Sandoval

Trevor Bauer wasn't even considered one of the best five pitchers on his own team this spring. I don't see any way that he commands any of the players that you mentioned outside of maybe Wilkerman Garcia since he's so far away. The other five are arguably the Top 5 Yankee Prospects right there.

Skaggs is a different story, though he's tainted by health, but no way that Bauer is worth that much.

So is it a good enough package for them?

Hann and Chavez are over 30 with little value, so I don't really think the Marlins would want to trade young cost controlled arms for that even getting SRF.

I don't know Gamel but Nova is worthless and Bauer is a decent young arm(25) with the potential to be above avg and has 5 years of team control left......Don't see how this trade works. Am i missing something big on the worth of Gamel?

Both of those I disagree with both of those. Bauer was moved to the pen...that's a massive overpay. Skaggs has been injured, a low B and a lotto would work.

Way too much for Kemp. Sox don't need an OF dealing anyone outside Johnson with Pablo is too much.

                      It was Hutchinson not Hann.

That doesn't change much. Hutchinson had a FIP and SIERA over 4 both last year and currently this year. I don't see why the Marlins would give up a young promising starter and closer for an over 30 starter, a 25 year old with not good peripherals and a prospect with a 50fv outside the top 100.

What would I have to give to make it fair value? And I know it's not realistic I'm not going for that I'm going for fair value.
