Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Looking to trade Steve Pearce over to a contender. So far from what I can see he would make sense for the Cleaveland Indians where he can play almost anywhere besides Catcher, pitcher or short stop.
In season Carlos Santana is down with an dislocated ankle for the foreseeable future (2-3 months) and Jose Ramires is due back in 1-2 weeks from a broken arm but the Indians are 52-51 which is good for 2nd place in the AL central only 3 games out of first.
Stats on the year as of July 31st in game for Steve Pearce what is his value
AB 387 HR 16 RBI 50 SB 0 AVG .251
Would the Indians even think about giving up Brady Aiken (#4 prospect in system #98 in top 100) Or Justus Sheffield (#6 prospect in system #99 in top 100) and Francisco Mejia (#11 prospect in system but not rated in top 100) for Pearce or am I getting laughed off the phone ?!?Chicago Cubs
Michigan Wolverines
Thanks Peyton. #18Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
I'm doing a Twins franchise and looking to deal Brian Dozier for pitching help and/or a better defensive LF. Any thoughts on what he's worth. The cpu keeps offering 3 deals. J Teheran and Inciarte from Atlanta. Cole Calhoun and either Shoemaker or G Richards. Cardinals offered me Carlos Martinez and Siegrist.
I like Calhoun but why would LA trade what little pitching they have. The Atlanta deal seems like a ripoff in my favour. Cardinals deal I like but again not sure if it's fair. Their other offer was Wong and Martinez if I threw in a 76 ovr C lvl SP.
Thoughts/ suggestions? I'm all for dealing Dozier for pitching prospects but don't follow the game as closely as most of you and only really know top few prospects in each farm system.Last edited by SwedishTouch76; 05-28-2016, 06:44 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Pearce isn't worth a top 100 guy. I don't really know enough about the indians system to know if Mejia is an overpay...MLB.com had him sandwiched between Clevinger and Naquin and I know the indians are pretty high on both them, so he still might be a little high.... Pearce's value is definitely in his versatility. Maybe look back on some trades from previous years for platoon/multi-positional guys to get an idea of what they got back.
Walker + Zobrist > Pearce
His versatility is key as you mention but he does have some pop with the stick that can help a team. But like mention before he got 10 years in and never really played over 70 games a year in the bigs until he caught on with BaltimoreLast edited by Dirty_D_; 05-28-2016, 06:48 PM.NewYork Mets | NewYork Knicks | NewYork "Football" Giants

I can't hit with him. His D has let me down too. I like him but I need pitching and I'm stuck with the bloated contracts of Nolasco and Santana.Comment

My rotation is Hughes, Santana, Gibson, Nolasco and Berrios. Duffy got hurt in ST so that is why Berrios is there.Follow my Twins franchise http://www.operationsports.com/Tmizzle/dynasty/Comment

All three of those deals are pretty bad.
Cardinals: wouldn't give up Martinez for Dozier, especially not with Wong there just signing an extension. If Wong is playing poorly, and they're desperate for 2B help, then maybe..
Wong + Pitching Prospect (Luke Weaver maybe?) for Dozier
Braves: aren't contending, would want prospects back for those guys, not Dozier. Non-factor in the Dozier market.
Angels: Richards/Shoemaker + Calhoun is an overpay for Dozier, just like the above deals. There's a fit there, but not at the expense of giving up major league talent like those two. There's not much there in terms of minor league talent. They're in a bad spot, and my gut tells me they won't be contending and will stick with Giovatella
If you want to be adventurous trade him to the Royals. I know the trading within a division "rule" is relevant for some reason (if you're getting a good return who cares), but there's a very obvious fit there.Last edited by k_mac; 05-28-2016, 07:43 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Ya I haven't called Berrios up. I assume Berrios is the best pitching prospect in the organization? I'd love to be rid of the Nolasco contract but no one realistically will take that. Do you ever add stubs to bump up your budget? I added 4 million but don't want the budget too high.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
I'd suggest not using the trade finder if you're interesting in making realistic and/or fair deals. The trade logic is still broken, but to a lesser extent than in past years.

I would wait until around the trade deadline and look for a team who could use an upgrade at 2B.Follow my Twins franchise http://www.operationsports.com/Tmizzle/dynasty/Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
About to start a Padres franchise and will be looking for a big bat to supplement all of my 2nd division regulars/vets. Preferably this bat would be able to play 1B or LF at a decently high level (no DH only guys) with Wil Myers getting pushed to the other position. Would prefer a left-handed bat--the Padres are very unbalanced with righty batters.
One name I thought about was Freddie Freeman, but I think the realism of getting him is questionable. Any names you guys can think of that fits these criteria (lefty batter, decent on defense at 1B or LF, not necessarily superstar level but can balance out a lineup and hit for power, realistic) ??Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment
