Another name I was thinking was Jon Singleton, who seems to be in the dog house in Houston with Tyler White and A.J. Reed rising up there. Singleton isn't exactly a vacuum cleaner at 1B though.

I could see Oakland moving Reddick if they're not contending. Comes down to if you think they're willing to resign him. Would have to happen at the deadline though. I think he's one of the more realistic targets honestly.

I'm not sure what's going on in Miami in terms of a plan, and I'm not sure they are either. They're not really contending but not committed to a rebuild either. Hard to say if they'd move Bour, but he's an interesting guy to have on the radar.

Singleton shouldn't cost much, I wouldn't think. Completely forgot about him when I threw Reed up on that list.

I'll add him to the list. He's a good option because (1) He's sort of odd man out in STL (Adams, Holliday, Piscotty, and Grichuk) and (2) He's equally proficient at 1B and LF. Thanks. Good name.

The only way Reddick isn't available is if the A's somehow end up in playoff contention. He is a FA after this season and I don't know if they resign him in the offseason. Perfect rental player.

        What are you on about.

First off all I don't even ask for too many trades compared to some people here.

Second of all, my question went unanswered but it's obvious that I still want an answer hence the bump. Can't see what's wrong with it. Was just an innocent bump hoping for some kind of answer. I thought maybe people didn't see it since it was the last post in that page...

WTNY is a veteran on here and he's right. There's no need to bump. Someone will respond in time.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

So I want to start a dynasty with the cubs(born and raised in the burbs of chicago). And as much as I love the starting pitchers in real life, I understand in video games that 30+ becomes a bad age. Anything older than that, decline can set in at a ridiculous rate. I know some people escape this and stay serviceable up close to 40, but thats few and far between. Maybe Arrieta would still be great in 5 years but the rest barring hendricks are 30+ and ready to fall off(im talking to you john lackey). Its with that in mind, that I rarely stay loyal in video games to players on my real life team.

Now I already know who I want to be the ace of my dynasty for the next 10 years. His name is Noah "Cinder-god"(METS) and he's gonna captain my ark. I dont feel bad about "stealing" him because I plan on giving up arrieta for him, want something else in return. I'll also prolly pawn lackey off on them as I know he dies in the 2nd season from RTTS.

Sorry for all the background but felt it might help someone answering.
My questions are who else should I be getting in return for arrieta and lackey for syndergaard? Im not overly sim but I dont want to completely rob the cabinet.

That and who do I trade Jon Lester for knowing I need a #2 thats at oldest 25 or 26, hopefully an 85+ b potential I guess? I want my 1-2 punch for at least 5 years but I dont know who to focus in on...

Also, I want to get rid of Dexter fowler, Zobrist, victorino, and prolly soler. Know soler's a good young prospect, but hoping I can get 3 more back for him with one of these extra guys. Looking for speed in the outfield(moving schwarber to c) and 2nd base. Not gonna spit at a home run hitter but I'd rather some stealers as the cubs have no base runners really...

            Thanks for reading and helping.

It is literally in the first post of this thread that you should not be bumping your posts. Royal you: If you don't get an answer, 95% of the time, it's on you. You either didn't provide enough context or are asking questions that have already been answered. Or because you've asked about too many trades. So when you then bump it, you're clogging the thread with more posts that have already been answered, or can't be answered. And WTNY has been here far, far longer than you have.

I'm not an expert but if I'm the Mets why do I trade you Syndergaard? He has like 5 years left of team control and Arrieta has 1 more year. I don't see why they would even want Lackey. Arrieta is making $10.5M this year while Syndergaard is making $500k.

If I'm answering the phone I go "Lackey who?". Yea no thanks we don't want him in the deal.

The New York Metropolitans are most likely not going to trade Thor.

To add to this, even if they did trade Syndergaard, it would be for a bat of equal value, not another pitcher.

I agree with you 100%. For the Mets to trade Thor, It would need to be for another piece close to his value with more than 5 years team control Like Sano from the Twins. Your best bet if you want any starter from the Mets would be Zach Wheeler as he is the odd man out right now with their starters.

No need to get defensive. I was just making you aware that most of the guys who actually help out in here dislike requests being bumped from a few hours ago. Since you seem quite new here (never heard of you before this year and a month ago or so at that), I was trying to do you a favor so you don't go down the road of ultimately getting yourself completely ignored.

For future reference, there are like 8 guys who answer 95% of the questions in this thread (AC, k_mac, redsox4evur, redsoxfan31, GamecocksLaw17, myself, and a couple of others I am forgetting as well as others who have dropped off the map like rjackson and 37). So really if you piss off that core group of guys, you are S.O.L.

I don't think you've done this yet, hence my friendly warning. No need to take it personally as I was actually trying to educate and not just be confrontational.

NDAlum put it very nicely. Why would the Mets give up one of the best young pitchers in the game right now? Arrieta was great last year but there are still questions surrounding him. Will he re-sign? If so, for how much? Can he replicate his numbers? Was it just a fluke year? How much longer can he continue his career? Do you want to pay him ace money into his mid to late 30's? He's said IRL he doesn't want to take a hometown discount, I can't see the Mets dealing a cost controlled stud in Noah for a 30+ year old pitcher on the verge of a potential pay day who was a number 3 or 4 guy up until last year. Lackey doesn't add much value to the trade, would be a nice throw in if the Mets are lacking a guy to stick into the rotation come playoffs but he's not the guy that's going to compliment Arrieta to net you one of the best pitchers in the game right now. If you're okay with it, there's probably not enough being given up.

Maybe Arrieta + AddRuss might get you a response.

If you want to get rid of that many players on the Cubs, I'd suggest you choose another team or do a fantasy draft.

Also it seems you are worried about many of these players regressing too quickly, but when the ratings go down, the performance doesn't always go with it...especially when the aging veterans are controlled by you. Ive found that I can still put up some decent numbers with guys with ratings in the mid 60's
                                Chicago Cubs
                                Michigan Wolverines

                                Thanks Peyton. #18
