This is a really good base imo. I really like this concept. Two things: Can't see the Yankees getting Hughes back and think the Padres are getting jobbed a bit. Maybe give Hughes to Padres instead of Nolasco (and him to the Yanks), and then somethign to San Diego, granted I don't know what. think this is a very interesting deal

Carter probably a high c prospect. And for Goldy, dude you're not getting top tier talent for the players you are offering up. Not going to happen.Oakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit TigersPittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay PackersDetroit Red WingsComment

Padres likely don't have something valuable enough to get Gallo from the Rangers. Maybe, Tyson Ross would do it if he was pitching amazing and healthy. But there is a real reason you don't see top 10 prospects traded unless there is a bonafide star involved.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
You would start with Moncada, Benintendi, Devers and have to add to that. Honestly if I am the Diamondbacks I'd also ask for Mookie Betts. You want a cost controlled legit star. It would cost an absolute fortune. There is 0% chance the Red Sox would get him. The package would be similar to a Trout deal because of how cheap Goldy's contract is combined with how good he is.Comment

As for Cruz, he's getting quite old now, so I'm guessing a high C along with a good replacement OF would do it. But let's hear it from the other folksMy teams:

I'd say Odorizzi would have more trade value, since he's making ~$500,000 this year and has three years of team control left.
Smyly is making 2 or 3 million and only has two arbitration years left.
They're both 26, and if Shelby Miller can command what he did, then they would both cost quite a bit. I think Odorizzi would be just a tick more though.Comment
