Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Then he is up to IRL, which is a good player with good upside. If he is playing well, probably adding Luis Castillo (if he is in/any good in the roster) could do it. If not make it Naylor and add on their end.Check out my dynasty: Rise to the Top: The Coaching Career of Joshua Morgan (NCAA 14)Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
So in the first year of my Dodgers season, and I'm 45-27 in mid-June, but have AGon, Utley, and Van Slyke of the DL for 2-3 months ( all recent injuries). I'm really hurting position player wise as Micah Johnson has hit under .200 since Utley's injury, and Turner needs regular days off, so Kendrick never gets a day off between those two. Also I have McCarthy about to come off the DL (I set IRL injuries at the beginning of the season), plus Urias tearing it up in AAA. I would really like to deal a current big league SP of mine for a solid, veteran 2B, or someone who could fill the spot better than Johnson, while freeing up Kendrick to play some LF, some 2B, and give Turner some days off at 3B (Kike is struggling).
I was thinking of dealing Scott Kazmir, currently in the first year of a 3yr, $48M deal. He is 8-5 with a 2.57 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in 91 innings. He also has 5.64 K/9, 0.4 BB/9, a 3.75 FIP, and a 1.47 WAR. Obviously he's getting by on a bit of luck, so I would also like to strike while the iron is hot. I know this isn't realistic, but could anyone at least give me a gauge of his fair value? I'm fine with a 3 way trade like Kazmir to a contending team with a SP need, prospects from that to a 3rd team, 3rd team sends me a 2B or player who could fill 2B adequately. What are people's thoughts?Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
You're underestimating Ozuna. Profar doesn't even have more team control than Ozuna. I really think Texas would need to add, not MiamiComment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
I agree, Profar's ability to play a premium position though helps him (SS). Maybe add one of the Rangers second tier pitching prospects, since Miami needs pitching.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Ozuna also plays up the middle (CF). I think the Marlins would need a pitching prospect close to the show to even think about moving OzunaComment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
I tend to agree, although I think the ability to defensively handle SS is far more valued than the capability to play CF. I do think a solid pitching prospect would have to be added, but I also think the Marlins are so desperate for pitching, that factors in as well. From an unbiased perspective, if I was the Marlins I would take Matuella and Profar for Ozuma, with the intent of extending Profar after one year of solid production, to a team friendly deal (with his injury history, he might jump at that). But it depends where the Marlins and Rangers are at in the franchise, Marlins don't do that if they are competing.Comment

So entering year 4. One of my 12 teams is Arizona. In off season, LaD offers me grandal and Pederson for pollock. Both had sub par seasons while Pollack had a decent year. Fair value? I took the deal btw as I was in bad need of a catcher
In back to back seasons, I've managed to land Chris sale in Seattle and Manny machado in sd.Oakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit TigersPittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay PackersDetroit Red WingsComment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
So if the SS and CF have similar WAR, they are about the same value according to the metric - with positional scarcity already accounted for.
Are the Marlins desperate for pitching in his franchise? I don't remember the exact post, but I'm not sure we got any info on how the Marlins are doing, which is an important piece of information."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment
