Aye that was me. Tried to be as specific as possible.

For two years running I've seen the same framerate question asked during streams, Q&As, etc., and it is always ignored. Let's face it, additions like PBR are far more impressive to the average gamer and look way better on the feature list than "we improved the framerate." I'm not saying it's right or wrong, it's just that this particular issue is not a focus for the team.

I'm not trying to sound snarky or condescending, but to me a smooth, solid framerate is more important than the reflection of the sun on the Twins dugout logo or the number of whiskers in Jayson Werth's beard. But I'm just one guy.

I added a link back here as a comment on Seancefc's bug report. Upvote that report guys - that's the general order in which SCEA deals with issues. Even if it is a decision and not a bug, that's how we get attention on this the RIGHT way.

Maybe the OP could edit that link into his first post?

Agree 2000% if that's even possible. I feel like anything over 100% agreement and my frame rate takes a hit.

That's just what it feels like to me. Either there is a cap or pbr took a toll on the frame rate.

A good way to see this is to press R3 while at bat and pan around the diamond. I feel there's a difference in motion between MLB 15 and 16.

Some games offer the option to toggle the 30 fps cap. If it is capped at 30, maybe that option will allow people to choose what kind of experience they want.

                  Re: Stuttering during gameplay?

So, I'm playing my first game today and it's at PNC in the daytime - and if I didn't already post about the problems I was having at Wrigley, I wouldn't have even noticed anything's wrong. It's definitely higher than 30 in gameplay and even approaches the smoothness of 60 (doesn't get there, but even I barely notice the difference between 45 and 60). The game that prompted my first post on this was at Wrigley in the daytime with the June selection in the play now menu.

I'm going to jump back to Wrigley after this, with the same settings to make sure this isn't some kind of weird fluke. I'm calibrating Dynamic Difficulty right now so it won't take as long as a full game for that to happen.

                    Re: Stuttering during gameplay?

The random and intermittent stuttering happened last year and the year before too. It's just so random at times but I notice it mostly when I'm up to bat and I have to time my swings and when the stutter happens as the ball is being pitched, it throws off the timing completely.

This was one of the only things I wanted fixed this year, and it looks like nothing was done at all. People even bug reported it last year several times and nothing was done.

I notice the framerate issues as well mostly in cutscenes, down the line hit's & a ball's into foul territory. Now I haven't played alot of games yet so different stadiums may be worse than others. I would like to see it addressed but given the graphical upgrades they do each year that's probably the reason it's jittery. Myself I would take a bit lesser graphics in areas to have smoother gameplay which to me is most important.

I just don't understand why they'd be fine with lowering the framerate that much. The graphics are improved, but even if they were flawless the framerate makes everything look worse because the game is constantly in motion.

Playing at Wrigley again now, and at least at the plate, I'm not as bothered by the framerate as I was last night. It's still down around 30, without a doubt - I can tell by being able to see the pitching meter skip frames on the way back to the accuracy point and by seeing individual frames of the ball coming in - but I think my eyes are adjusting to it already. This is what I meant when I said I don't let things like this ruin games for me - as long as gameplay is above 30 it's still plenty playable for me. For others (particularly high-end PC users) it's not going to be that simple.

One place where it still seems jarring, even now, is in the infield when the fielding camera moves. I think it might be dropping slightly below 30 there, and that's why more people are noticing that particular instance.

Day game, clear, at Fenway...no major issues during gameplay. 50% ish of cutscenes. ALL 'TVs swipes' laggy.

Looks like it's going to boil down to which ballpark you're in and what the conditions are. Citi Field was a nightmare at night so that pretty much rules out using them in season mode!

Thanks for the heads up Cruise. I will notice the LEAST drop in framerate thanks to my OCD...I just can't stand it, nor can I adjust to it. sad but true. That's why I spent the majority of my time creating faces, instead of playing 15.
