Re: Baserunning
I was also sure I wasn't hitting the shoulder buttons when I swung, but it turned out my finger was resting near the button and I was applying very slight pressure on the button. Try moving your finger or make a conscious effort to not apply any pressure with your index finger, see if that changes your luck.Comment

Re: Baserunning
I have played many more than one game with auto baserunning, and I can assure you that seeing this issue is not that simple. I'm probably well up over 200 including the shorter Conquest games(but at least 70-80 full length games), and I've had the diveback thing happen exactly one time - and it wasn't with auto baserunning. I posted about this one occurrence earlier in this thread, along with what I believed to be the cause. My instance of this is corroborated by some people's accounts of their own experiences, and disputed by others. The closest I've come to seeing a constant in all of this is that there's a momentary flash of the R1 indicator on the baserunning display, indicating that input was triggered somehow. But even that didn't show up in every recording people posted.
If it was really as easy to cause this to occur (by any other reason than an accidental L1 press) as you believe it is, I think it would have already been found and fixed.
Bad inputs or bad controllers happen. The PS4 dualshock is not the highest quality controller you will run across. Case in point - a few weeks ago in the UFC sub forum there was a similar issue about an input not working in the ground game. The dev for that game was active on that board trying to find the cause, and eventually settled on it being a controller problem. Sure enough, the poster having this problem realized that he had a button sticking, despite it being a brand new controller.
That's more than likely why Ramone's stance is what is, that a controller input is at fault - they can't find a way to reproduce it. And that means they can't fix it, even if they know it's happening to people.
I get that it sucks from the consumer's point of view, especially if it's as frequent for you as you're claiming.

Re: Baserunning
The only thing I can say with certainty is it is not the controllers. I play with two PS4 controllers..the same two I have used to play the MLB PS4 series since it has been on PS4. I have played many other PS4 games with the controllers without a single input issue. And yes it sucks.Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.Comment

Re: Baserunning
I can't comment on the controllers effect on baserunning as I use auto but I have found they do wear out over time especially if you play button mashing games. I have an older controller that I get my son in law to use for FIFA and newer controller I use for the SHOW. Just last night I played a franchise game and struck out 7 times (way late on everything) in the first 3 innings which is unusual for me. I checked everything I could and found I was using the older controller that has now messed up my franchise stats! I quickly changed back to the newer one and the problem with late timing was solved as I feel the buttons are more responsive and accurate.Comment

Re: Baserunning
This is getting ridiculous. Another 17 inning game and I had chances to win it in almost every inning. Get a man on first hit with the next guy and he doesn't run to second. I try and override and make him go and he just stays. Why is auto overriding on every hit with any base runners on. It's crazy. Same with runner in scoring position. They don't run home. Every ball and the guy dives back to second. Then if he gets to third it's just barely instead of scoring. I dunno how much longer I can play like this. I even took every hand off the controller and just clicked X lol. Doesn't matter. Every time I have runners in a chance to score my rally gets squashed or the runners won't score and it overrides to manual. Someone please fix this and change auto baserunning back to the auto baserunning of every other game. I dunno if I can play anymore like this :/

Re: Baserunning
Since the newest update a few days ago, I actually think things are a little better for me. I've had a few guys run from first to third on a single with AUTO still showing, and I even had a man on 3rd run home to score on a deep fly ball on his own. A step in the right direction!Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.Comment

Yea it has definitely improved, but I am still getting at least 1 key moment stopped each game due to this. And it is hard enough to get hits as it is haha
Maybe I will try assisted baserunning instead. They might not have the bugs

Re: Baserunning
Well, you're bound not to notice the baserunning gaffes as much when you're actually directing the runners yourself (which is what "assisted" is, it's kind of a misnomer). That said, the one time I've seen the diveback thing happen was while using assisted baserunning, so it can happen on either mode.Comment

Yea I agree. I am hoping with assisted it leads my runners appropriately and not making them dive back to first automatically. Regardless, this is an issue. I have played the show for many years and play every game of franchise mode and always have used auto baserunning. What was the issue before? If you are mad about the runners running into outs hire a better third base coach lol. Besides people always get gunned out its part of the game. I loved last years auto baserunning. Hope they fix it!
