Re: BUG? Vines don't grow at Wrigley in Franchise
I don't recall that many bugs or errors in previous MLBs. Though the majority are nothing close to game breaking, this game most certainly feels a bit less polished than before.Comment

Re: BUG? Vines don't grow at Wrigley in Franchise
The 3rd home game of season (night game) had the green ivy. Interestingly, when I saved the game and later resumed the ivy was now brown but with some green patches. The 4th home game (day game) had brown ivy and no green patches.Comment

Re: BUG? Vines don't grow at Wrigley in Franchise
I also got the green ivy for the first four home games in April.
I started a new franchise with default rosters and the same thing happened: four home games all with lush, green ivy.
So I started another franchise the same way, got to the first home game and the ivy was brown.
Then I went back to a previous save in my original franchise, went to the first home game and the ivy was brown.
Whether you get stuck in green ivy mode appears to be random, or tied to the weather somehow as previously mentioned by another poster.
I tried to figure out what causes the opening day to show green ivy but couldn't.
BUT, I definitely started two franchises the exact same way, and in one the opening day ivy was green, and the other it was brown.
Go figure.Comment

This is very odd. A friend of mine has had this issue as well. I really hope it gets addressed.
I remember a few years back that every single game at Wrigley was during the day. It took them a while, but they fixed it. This would definitely bother me if the ivy was sporadically brown and green throughout the season.Comment

Re: BUG? Vines don't grow at Wrigley in Franchise
If you reach a game in April and the ivy is green then try doing this:
Exit the game (meaning the entire application), restart, and start a season mode. Sim to the first Cub home game and select overcast as the weather. After the game starts, and you see the ivy is brown, then exit to the menu. Restart your franchise and play the next game at Wrigley.
This worked a couple of times for me so far. Something in the steps above resets, apparently. Not sure if the fix will be permanent or if you'll have to go through this every game, but it worked at least one game.Comment

Re: BUG? Vines don't grow at Wrigley in Franchise
I've played every game of my Cubs franchise, and am to the last day of April. Still brown, but thats pretty consistant with real life. I was wondering if they would turn greener when the calendar switches to May. They have gone from brown to green in years past, I just can't remember when the switch is made.
However, if you're still in early April, I don't think that its a bug. Its intentional.Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.Comment

But some guys above are getting....green on day 1....then brown.....then green...etc.
I haven't had that myself though....just the initial day 1 green problem

Re: BUG? Vines don't grow at Wrigley in Franchise
Messed around with this a little last night. It's so bizarre. Someone said it earlier and I can confirm that the ivy can be fixed at least on opening day by saving the game and reloading the save. It's so strange. My OCD will make me go insane if this issue isn't fixed. Hopefully SCEA addresses it in a patch/update. Another option (like the closed roofs) would be to give us the ability to play with no ivy, some ivy, or full ivy. Allow us to select it before the game.Comment

Re: BUG? Vines don't grow at Wrigley in Franchise
Funny enough, the very next game that I played, April 30, the ivy is fully green. I thought that in years past, they had a bit of a transition period where there was a level between the brown and the lush, alive ivy. No biggie though. When I first read the thread, I was concerned that it was staying brown all year long for some people.Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.Comment

LOL. I actually like how the Ivy is a visual analogy for the MLB season itself. From dead and brown in the early spring, to lush and green in the summer, and then finally a beautiful red in the Autumn. Its also cool that Wrigley literally comes alive in a way every year.Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.Comment
