    Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?

On the players stats screen in Franchise, I'd love to be able to cycle between the season, career and maybe month or last 10 days? Because you get the stats for the last 10 days pop up every now and again when loading a game, but there's no good way of being able to check how people have been doing recently, or if they are coming up on career milestones.

There is a little detail missing that bugs me and i hope the team adresses on MLB 17. I'm talking about the stirrup sucks. Back in the day a lot of players used them inside the leg openings.

We need this style for our creatde players. Please SCEA San Diego, it would help too for creating historic teams.

And what about legendary and historic equipment like those nike cleats? It would be splendid to add those to our created players and franchise players. Or what about the ability to change the equipment of Diamond Dynasty players? That would be pretty cool!!!

I'd like for them to put the face guard on the helmets that a bunch of players like Jason Heyward wear. More and more players are doing it now and I'd like to see it in the game.

Have some setting to make earning awards optional or at the very least fix the stupid bug that when you return from a game if your internet connection has crapped out on you (the fault of the internet provider, not SCEA), that the game does not get hung up on the stupid rewards screen and the results from the game are lost since there is no way to recover. I don't care about the rewards. As far as I am concerned they are 100% useless for how I play the game. All I ever get anyways are these useless players with skills in the 50s and 60s. Make the damn thing optional or fix the bug. I've lost at least half a dozen games played this season because of this issue.

I'd like to see more wiggle room in regards to Postseason rosters.
In 2011, the Rangers put Esteban German on their postseason roster to be used primarily as a pinch runner. He was on there in place of an 11th or 12th pitcher.
German wasn't on the 25 man roster on Aug. 31 of that year, but the Rangers got around it by claiming he was injured on Aug. 31 or some other technicality, when in reality, they were just skirting the rules as best they could. In fact, German didn't play at ALL for the big league club until September that year.
I'm sure this sort of thing has been done several times, if not every year across Major League Baseball.
I'd like to see The Show emulate this by allowing users and the CPU to add 1 or a max of 2 players to their playoff roster who weren't on the 25-man roster on Aug. 31. Of course, the added player would still have had to have been on that club's 40 man roster on Aug. 31, and possibly a few more restrictions to prevent exploits (though I don't see any obvious exploits with a 40-man roster restriction as of Aug 31).
As it stands now, The Show doesn't even allow you to add a minor leaguer who is on your 40-man, but happened to be injured on Aug. 31 and wasn't on the 25-man roster when he got injured.
I say open things up just a pinch for the sake of realism. Emulate the gamesmanship of GM's.

A simple aesthetics detail. Would love to see the catchers glove cradle the ball completely. It looks a bit odd to see from the pitchers perspective, the ball stuck in the mitt with the ball clearly visible still.

                  Thank you.

More realistic draft classes without as many players age 23, 24, etc. There is a thread about this that breaks down the problem well.

It would be cool if you could see where players went to college and what their stats were. Maybe some comparisons to current players. Editing draft classes would be a nice option too.

I know the mlb draft is not a big tv event like the nba and nfl, but having some kind of draft presentation similar to 2k would be fun. Maybe have some commentary on the draft picks as they are happening, at least for the first round or so.

I have mixed feelings about scouting. It seems silly to not have time to scout so many players. I like the end result of the draft being kind of a crap shoot, but the process seems a bit unrealistic. Should you really need to discover so many players? If a player is good or has potential, doesn't pretty much every team know about them? I would like scouting to be more focused on the individual players. Pre-draft workouts would be cool.

The scouting system is too tedious. Let us select more than one player to scout at one time and then give us an update after a week or something. It is annoying to go back to the scouting menu every other day to change to a new player to scout. The menus themselves are cumbersome as well.

I am glad they gave some attention to scouting this year with the 20-80 scale, let's keep moving toward realism in scouting and drafting.

Pitchers should be able to win post season and world series mvp. I have never, ever seen this happen, even with immaculate pitching performances. Even if a pitcher has a significantly higher WAR than position players, they will not win or even compete for the award.

Making starting pitcher usage more realistic in the post season would help with this too. As it is, the top pitchers get too many days rest in many cases and are never used in relief situations from what I have seen.

I'd like to see pitching matchup (IE Lefty vs Lefty, Right vs Right) matter more. As it sits, it really doesnt make a difference how you set your lineup or bringing in a pinch hitter or relief pitcher.

And for the love of god, please continue to work on the complete games. Lower ALL staminas, make default slider more realistic. There shouldnt be 9+ complete games a year, let alone in one month. AND NO, I shouldnt have to go and lower stanimas myself to make it realistic.

i'd love to see more player traits explored. And building your roster in franchise can be built more on this rather than ratings.
For example: the team mentor, David Ross can give younger players a boost, or progress faster during a season by having him on your team, instead he's pretty much optioned by June in my franchise because his ratings are so low, but adding this trait can help you make decisions on who to bring in.
The Clutch player, David Ortiz gets a major boost in late situations, his regular swing has a zone as big as his contact swing etc.
The all or nothing, Pedro Alvarez only has a power swing option, it just doesn't feel right being able to have a 2 strike approach when he literally only swings for the fences every time up.
Big game pitcher, they're overall stats can be low, but in important games they can pitch like your ace.
Choker. Puig, they're stars become significantly less during big game situations or series.
I just feel these would add to the whole element of franchise mode significantly

Play-the-Moments. This is my favorite feature in Madden. I didn't think I'd like it, but I do. I love how drastically it shortens the game, yet they don't take out enough to the point where you feel as if you had nothing to do with the outcome. Yes, I play with Quick Counts.

Look, I know it's not for everyone. But when you're 34, married, with a full-time job, anything that can save a few minutes can be a blessing. It's nice even for a 16-game season, imagine how awesome it would be when you're trying to get through 162.
Would the lady who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field please pick them up immediately? They are beating the Cubs 4-0 in the 7th inning!

In regards to your talk of Alvarez, I actually try to be realistic with my Tiger team. Guys like Salty, Upton, etc. never swing "contact" even with two strikes. It just isn't what they do. The only time I go contact with anyone other than Iglesias, Romine, Aviles, Gose, or Castellanos is the rare situation where the SP is racking up K's and there is a man on 3b with less than 2 out.
