Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
Apologies if this has already been mentioned.
Yesterday I was editing rosters outside Franchise mode and thought it was a bit fiddly having to go from Roster Control to Create and Edit just to change audio name or age etc. Could we please have the Edit Player option within Roster Control?
Then I had another thought, wouldn't it be great if we could just copy all of a player's ratings and then paste them into any player within your Franchise. That would allow you to import ratings updates from the weekly updates into your ongoing Franchise or onto an SCEA generic for call-ups and player additions. If it isn't possible to import a player into a Franchise then this would be a workaround.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
Just came up with another one that I would like to add to next years game.
I would like to be able to save our profile to the hard drive. I personally use dynamic difficulty in my franchise. Well last night I installed my new 2TB Hard Drive and of course The Show was my first install. So now I have to start completely over with my DD settings. That just sucks.
Like for example when I get the PS4 Pro in a few weeks if my profile was saved in the cloud all I would need to do is install it instead of having to set everything up again.
I am actually kind of shocked that this is not an option alreadyComment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
Ok...so after taking an extended break for MLB The Show 16 and playing Madden 17 and now NBA 2K17, I fired up 16 this morning and started playing my 1987 Yankees franchise in year 2 and also prepped for Spring Training for my Cardinals Fantasy Franchise entering year 2 coming off my first ever World Series win on any iteration of The Show.
The game plays amazing. I still love it to death. And boy did I miss it. It was a nice break after playing literally every day since 3/31/16 through 8/26/16.
But the post season has given me the itch again and i am back at it and The Show is again in my sports game rotation. Simply put....Baseball is better.
So what do I want to see for 17. I will preface this by saying, I really really need to see some significant upgrades to really entice me to purchase 17 on release. I am seriously considering on passing up the game on release, till it is well into the late summer and far cheaper if nothing really changes in the way of the core game play. Of course I will eventually get it to transfer my franchises and my plethora of classic rosters, but if it is essentially the same game with fine tuning I am not doing the release day thing.
I really think the game is being maxed out right now for the most part. Maybe I am wrong (hope I am to be honest), but I felt 16 was as good as it has ever been in terms of the core gameplay (for me personally) and my style of play.
I loved the new personality system, contracts, and ball physics. What I would love to see for 17?
MLB Network implementation on a grand scale. This is really a big thing for me. Why? Well if you play NBA 2K17 you will see what a AAA sports games presentation should be top to bottom. It is simply my gold standard now. While The Show is very good IMO with SOTS (my god did that change this game for me big time) it's off the field and in particular during the game that really needs a makeover.
1) In game stat's, matchups, historical numbers vs ABC pitcher vs ABC hitter, 2K's baseball game was sub par, but their presentation was really on point with this aspect. Also please bring back my batter walk up stats for every AB. I want those season stats always shown and updated like they used to be. And in the post season also....show their season stats and post season stats every AB.
2) In Franchise we need a true Hot Stove show for the off-season and Quick Pitch (around the league weekly highlight show) show. I know daily would be crazy, and I like the radio show for the daily aspect while you are doing roster work, prospect scouting, training, etc. But being able to trigger a weekly around the league highlight show would bring such life to Franchise mode.
3) In season/in game presentation - What happened to trades being talked about during broadcasts? I did not see it on 16. While the commentary has certainly become more dynamic, I still hear too many repeated lines way too early into my season. I fully understand over 162 games it will repeat and repeat often. But at least let me get 35-40 games in before I hear the same tired lines about throwing curve balls for strikes and not wanting to face the on deck batter with men on base LOL. It needs a lot more work to keep it fresher for longer for those of us who grind through 162 games.
4) Real assistant coaches or the ability to edit them however we want to add to the authenticity.
5) Minor League rehab assignments coming off injury - I really would love to see this. It will make the game that much more authentic. And since we have that ability to play minor league games....it would be cool to get a few rehab games in to make sure our player is good to go.
6) Off-Season Hot Stove - Make the off season even more robust (alive) and dynamic. Have a Hot Stove show recapping all the big name free agent signings and winter meeting trades. Whether that is text via news paper or an audio radio show or video show...I don't really care, but I want a one stop shop to recap the off-season around the league without me having to cycle through
7) Gameplay - While I feel 16 plays a heck of a game of console baseball, I would love to see further improvement of hit variety and also cutting down the over abundance of foul outs to the catcher. Seriously.....it's over done since the move to PS4. too many catchers have cat like reflex's and get to almost every pop foul hit either behind them or to the side of them....it's kinda crazy. It needs to be made more organic and not so automatic. I would also love to see a catcher IQ implemented for those of us who use API. I want to see top tier catchers who call great games and I want to see green rookies who call mistake pitches more often than the savvy veterans. It can be a dynamic system too in conjunction with adding a training feature to help improve it and also it can regress with some much older catchers who are beat up and maybe took a few too many foul tips off the mask. But I would like to see something like that. A high IQ catcher should know each of their pitchers and every hitters makeup (hot zones/cold zones) and call a good game. Again dice roll it and make it dynamic and give Catchers tiers based on real MLB data.
So again fine tuning the game to really add more immersive presentation elements and rating/AI elements that play to the Pitcher/Batter showdown which is the core element of baseball and for me the most enjoyable part of playing The Show. Pitching and hitting is 75% of the fun in this game. I think they improved fielding and throwing a ton on the new console and hope they continue to enhance that aspect as well. The animations on 16 are excellent. Yes they still need improvement in terms of infield and outfield urgency on plus runners and slower hit balls. We need to see that recognition by the AI as well as those of us who like to auto field/manual throw.
I hope to see great things for 17 and the team to make it a must buy for me on 3/31/17!!!!
Surprise me gents!!!Comment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
Haven't read through the thread, but I would like to make your own unis like NBA 2k. Then I can actually use my DBacks and change them back to purple and teal like they should be. Plus I can get rid of their awful current unis."I'm all about that action, boss." - Marshawn Money Lynch
NFL: Seattle Seahawks
NBA: Phoenix Suns
MLB: Arizona D-Backs
NHL: Arizona Coyotes
NCAA: Arizona State Sun Devils/Florida GatorsComment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
1. Customizable Divisions/Leagues
2. Ability to edit players appearance - many are using faces from 2 seasons ago (Charlie Blackmon, Jon Grey)
3. Realistic weather - Every game in April/May/September in Colorado is not in the 40's or lower.
4.Correct uniforms - Don't pick uniforms based on the cover of the media/uniform guide.
5. Dirt stains on outfield walls - none have the stains that are showing up, again, Colorado extremely bad.
6.Get rid of "shimmering" effect of chain link fences. Most are painted with a dark flat paint to avoid this IRL.
7. Better grass. Also eliminate the clouds of dust that fly up. Materials used today have virtually eliminated this in real life, also infields are so soaked, it doesn't happen.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
Somethings I'm really hoping for is
Editable Coaches.
Also can we please tune down the amount of Drafted players having Euro mustaches and no batting gloves. I find myself having to go through each drafted player and make sure they don't have weird facial hair style.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
I know it has been but I would like to see it on the calendar or on the home page in Season/Franchise mode so I won't be surprised after loading up a season game or for those who are unfamiliar with the dates of these events.2018-2019 NBA Champions!Comment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
I'd like for them to fix the postseason roster rules. In this game you still need to have a player on your Major League roster or DL by August 31st for them to be eligible to be in the playoffs. In real life MLB, they modified the rules now so that everybody on the 40 man roster or DL on 8/31 is automatically eligible.
So this prevents the issue of having to basically decide your playoff roster over a full month in advance.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
Agree with Armor and Sword. The gameplay for MLB the Show is great (need some tuning on fielding, but still great). But where it lacks is both new features (particularly for the offline, franchise player) and in presentation. I didn't realize how lacking it was until I played the new NBA2k. The presentation is AMAZING. MLB the Show needs to up it's game there big time.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
More varied postgame show. Maybe instead of a player of the game, do a top 3 plays At the very least please mix up the animations and dialogue on the postgame show.
More stat overlays! Hot/Cold Streaks for teams and individuals. Individual and team league leaders.
More reference to the standings and pennant races.--Do a check in on division games during the 5th inning.
Mix up when announcers talk about the previous game. As of now its always basically in the same spot in the first inning.
More interesting cutaways to the players. One example, After a homerun its always the same basic animation cutaway to the manager. Cut to different players. Show more emotions. Even have a stat overlay that may show hwo many home runs hes had the past ten days or what number home run it is off this particular pitcher. Mix it up.
Track storylines. If it is a pitchers duel in the 5th inning. Start the inning showing strikeout highlights by both pitchers, or defensive plays. If its a high scoring game, show those highlights.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
Some great presentation suggestions. I'd like to see a different broadcast for Sunday night games which typically are the biggest matchup that weekend. Have the steady cam follow the hitter down the line back to home plate after a homer. Have different overlays, etc. And have them talk about results from earlier in the day especially divisional opponents.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
Better player animation for big events and celebrations. Justin Turner hit a 2 run HR in the bottom of the eighth to give dodgers a 2-1 lead in game 7 of the playoffs and it was like it hit a solo HR in April.Comment
