This year how it’s suppose to. It won’t let me do trades it now says “we don’t think we are getting enough for that deal” what is the point of 30 task control when the cpu is saying if a trade is fair or not ! It’s pissing me off

Force trade needs to be on in the settings

Newbie here... Can ANYONE walk me through setting up 30 team control with 2 profiles so I can control my teams and auto the remaining teams. Thank You Much.

Force trades does NOT need to be on with 30 team control.

If Team A wants to trade Player A to Team B for player B, and team B says they need to be getting more value, but YOU feel the trade is a good trade, and you want it to go through, then do the following.

Instead of proposing the trade as Team A to Team B, propose the trade as TEAM B to Team A. Team A will accept it as they will be getting a better value.

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control

As someone who had never tried 30 team control before, can somebody explain the impact of the difficulty settings for the other profiles? I usually play on Dynamic because I like to have the game adjust based on how I am doing (usually I do great with the pitching but suck at hitting so the game will customize for me after a couple of games).

For anyone who starts a new Dynamic profile, you probably know that on Opening Day when the game starts you on the easiest possible setting, you're probably gonna toss a complete game shutout with 15 K's. Then by the end of the second/start of the third game you'll likely have ranked up your pitching a ton and the CPU will start to get challenging.

But instead, I fire up Opening Day and got absolutely destroyed, like I was on Legend difficulty. So now I'm thinking that instead of me killing the CPU and the game getting harder, the CPU is now going to kill me until the game gets easier. It's really weird and I'm now wondering if I just need to start over.

If force trades is on you don't need to do a work around, it just works the first time. So technically no you don't need it on but if you do have it on those steps are not necessary.

I think the first post and video was very helpful for me to set this up. This was from 2 years ago but got me through this.

In the mode specific tab (i think that is where it is) you can set up the profiles you want: one for you where you select manual for the things you want to control on your own and auto for the other activities; you can then save that profile to a name you want for it. Then go back in and change the settings for CPU to control all the things you want them to do, and again, create the profile with a save. Now go into the 'set team associations' and for the teams you want, use the right stick to set the profile to your profile, and set the CPUs to the one you set for them. Then do 'apply changes' and you should be good to go. I don't mess with those toggle buttons on the main menus, i don't know if they work. This and the video on the first page I hope will get you going.

yeah, but force trades kind of defeats the whole purpose of 30 team control....

Not sure how that is but ok, I use force trades for the team that I control to keep rosters as close to real life as possible. If the Yankees make a trade I mirror it in my franchise. The other 29 teams trade option is set to auto and they are free to trade as they wish. The reason I use 30 team control and its different for some people , is to keep lineups and the cpu controlled teams 40 man roster competitive and up to date after injuries and callups and send downs. I still controlling some aspects of each team but don't want to be bombarded with every little thing that goes on in each team franchise . It works for me, others do it different.

I just simmed through the trade deadline with my trade block consisting of Freeman, Acuna, Albies, etc. and the trade slider at 10. CPU made probably a hundred trades amongst themselves, not a single offer to me (the only user-controlled team).

I checked the Inbox, etc. nothing.

I can initiate and make trades no problem, but I never get prompted from the CPU.
Still cannot get the CPU to initiate a trade, for those using 30 team control with CPU-initiated trades, if you go to the Trade block screen and try and hit "x" to make a trade straight from the screen, does it work? It works in single team control, but not with my 30 team control.

It's pretty frustrating, even though the CPU trades are usually laughable, it at least opens up a thought.

Do you mean that you go into the CPU trade block to initiate the trade (or is it your trade block?) I never used the trade block per se so not sure if it would work or not. Frustrating that you didn't get offers; I know in the past I did, so not sure what has changed. You can (or at least you used to be able to) block ridiculous CPU trades when they are offered between the CPU clubs (through the transactions pending screen). But you have to go day by day or they will trade Harper and Scherzer for a bag of peanuts if you sim multiple days. That sucks, sorry to hear this. I currently keep my 30 team control on manual for trades so I haven't looked for this feature (or lack of) in a year or two but I know in previous iterations I was offered trades by the CPU in 30 team mode.

Into the CPU's trade block. So, say I'm the Braves, and I go to the Marlins trade block, I cannot hit x and go from that screen into the trade offer screen. Not a big deal, but I'm guessing it's linked to the CPU not initiating trades.

It seems odd; usually in sports games you see a flurry of CPU/CPU trades early then you never see one but you get offers for as a human run team all the time to make you 'engaged' in the game.

Let me try to go to 17 into one of my old saves and set the CPU teams to auto for trades and me on manual and put some big name and value names on the block. You said you simulated? I can do this a month or two at a time to see if any offers came my manually controlled team's way to see if this is an 18 issue or maybe has been there but I never noticed.

Are we unable to see computer trades offered anymore so we can review them and then reject them if we don’t think it’s fair? I loved how that used to be. I didn’t see it in 17 either but I never asked about it. I have all CPU team settings to auto and all of mine to manual but I just cannot find where to approve/reject trades. Any help is appreciated.

Because you don't know when the CPU is trying to trade you have to go one day at a time. Go to Transactions and "Pending", button over to the trades offered screen, then right (or left, depending on your preference) trigger through each team to see if a trade is offered. That's where you can view and reject it. I didn't do it in 17 either since I had it all on manual, though the CPU did make one trade before I realized I had the wrong settings moving Derek Norris (for the second time in two years!). So that is how I handled it in the past. If the CPU goes to make a trade and you skip the day (sim past it) if they agree it would go through.
