Yep. The urgency of the throw has, apparently, nothing to do with game context. In fact, outfielders sometimes seem to take more time to throw on plays where quick reaction is important. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the game, but the legacy issues just seem to keep piling up.Comment

This one. Almost literally every leadoff hitter with a certain level of speed tries to start the game with a drag bunt.Comment

5. Also to echo the OP, I'm really, really sick of weak-*** fouls that from every indication should be unplayable, but instead float around as if the ball is a marshmallow, resulting in the catcher or 1B making the catch.
6. Last but not least: the cuts they've made to broadcast presentation, most notably the "real time" thing from 12 or 13 or whatever it was. Every time I'm made to watch one of those pitcher cutscenes, a ballboy cutscene, a manager cutscene, etc., I'm reminded of all the cool stuff we used to be able to see that they ripped.

As long as it doesn't become the ONLY mode..."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

As far as changing really making a bad difference is behind the plate. The quick changes can mean the difference between dropping the pop-up in foul territory, getting a runner out at first on a sub-10' hit, or a chance to hold a runner on a ball in the dirt.Comment

You mean baseballs shouldn't behave like they're in a wind tunnel, even when the game log says the wind is blowing at, say, three miles an hour??

Just FYI, I think the foul frequency slider actually affects the number of fouls that go out of play vs. stay in play, more so than it affects the total number of fouls (though it does affect that too to a degree).Comment

You know I never considered this for whatever reason; thanks. Just played a couple games with that slider maxed and the number of BS floaty fouls was decreased dramatically - like literally one or two instead of six or seven.Comment

This makes sense too - frequency of fouls in play. I usually keep it on 0 and always see a lot of fouls so I was wondering why. What you mention here might be the missing piece."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Ok so I gave it a fair shake hoping they improved it from last year, but I'm just gonna say it: crowd distribution sucks.
Seriously, this is not hard - just prioritize it in this manner:
1. First two rows, foul pole to foul pole.
2. Dugout to dugout, lower deck.
3. First three rows, dugout to dugout, upper deck.
4. Dugout to dugout, front half of seating, upper deck.
Literally everything else is marginal seating and can be spotty/empty/full depending on game/team circumstance. This game, on the other hand, for like the third year in a row (or however long it's been since they stopped letting us control ticket prices) treats the entire lower deck exactly the same, so you get equal distribution behind home plate, in the outfield, up in the corner from the foul pole, whatever, all the while with a totally empty upper deck. It looks ridiculous. For a game that prides itself on details this is a pretty big oversight if you ask me, and coming on the heels of them claiming to have reworked crowd distribution last year no less.
Thumbs down.Comment
