Rage Quitting: We've All Done It...

Don't lie - you've done it. We all have.

The umpire squeezes you and the next batter hits a grand slam.

Your second basemen boots a routine grounder and the next guy hits a two-run double.

You have bases loaded, only to have your next batter strike out on a borderline pitch and the next guy hit into a DP to kill the rally.

Oh yeah, we've all rage quit. Every single one of us. So tell me . . . how many times have you rage quit (estimate) and what circumstances occurred that made you feel the need to rage quit?

Same, I have yet to rage quit, I keep a pillow close by so I can slam my controller into it when I feel cheated, but then like an adult, I continue on with the game. lol

I have also mastered the controller flip, after any bad call I toss the controller 4 feet into the air with 3-4 rotations. Then the next time I see my wife, I explain to her how the CPU cheats to beat me all the time.

          Two, I guess.

I played through a 14-2 drubbing, giving up 10 runs in 3 innings, etc. I use games like that as chances to try stuff - different approaches, influencing, practice things, etc.

Never raged quit. Never quit on a game. Play'em out til the end whether its close, I'm up big or down big, because tomorrow is another day.

And in response to your "reasons":

The umpire squeezes you and the next batter hits a grand slam.
            It happens both ways

Your second basemen boots a routine grounder and the next guy hits a two-run double.

You have bases loaded, only to have your next batter strike out on a borderline pitch and the next guy hit into a DP to kill the rally.
            It happens both ways.

No reason to rage quit. I've had some of the most epic comebacks after some of the greatest failures. I've given up 4 runs in the top of an inning only to score 5 in the bottom. I've blown a lead only to get it back later. Its baseball, you have to get all 27 outs to win a ballgame.

Ages ago I would rage quit but not in at least the last 5 years or so.

Perfect case of this was just the other day when I tied the game at 1 in the top of the 7th only to have the Rays take a 7-1 lead in the bottom of the inning. Kept playing and end up taking a 9-7 lead in the top of the 8th. Went on to win the game 10-9 for one of the craziest games I have experienced in this version of The Show.

I never rage quit. There's a 162 games so I take my L and on to the next one. I do send peeps to the minors with the quickness though lol.

The last time I remember quitting a game I started, it was like 10-10 in the third inning IIRC
It was during a period of getting sliders just right, & a time before I had heard of Marino & Armor & Sword's sliders.

I'd be lying if i said I've never rage quit before. If it's laggy I'll rage quit if the other guy doesn't accept a friendly quit in the first inning of a scoreless game.

I've rage quit on peolle who stack their lineups with speed and bunt all game, rather take the L than play that game. I don't care about losing but I'm not going to play 9 innings of cheap boring baseball.

Never have. I felt more rage back in the days of Hardball 3 when you would routinely go 150-12 in a season, and that was just if you REALLY tried to lose 12 games.

I did years ago with Madden. It was on my PS2 and it was a wired controller. I grabbed the cord and slammed the controller into the floor and it shattered. That was my only controller so after that I was kind of forced to just hit the power button.

But that was years ago. The Dr. said I'm better now.

                              Hi.

                              I have raged quit.

I'm trying the 12-step process in my rehab but I can't get past step-nine...Why should I accept losing? Bases loaded, I'm down by 3 and I hit a ball perfectly for it to be a pop-up? It's so sam hill INFURIA-

                              .....

                              I'm working on it.
