My guess is one of the commentators could be Dan Plesac. He has a great, humorous style on tv.

Well my apologizes. I didn't spend much time here before to know you specifically mentioned that he will remain with the franchise.
Now the question is, will they redo his work from scratch at some point! I'll wait till after March 2nd to pass any true judgement.Comment

MLB Network Presentation Confirmed For MLB The Show 17
Well lets be honest, Vasgersian has had this gig for 11 years now. Eleven years.
My opinion is this: Matty V is one of the much better PBP guys in real life. However, its simply gotten to a point where, for me, the staleness of continuing to have him do PBP for a decade is the only thing that puts this great franchse into the "Bland and outdated" category, if you will.
Literally every other aspect of this game is near perfect! I've been playing this franchise since the beginning; been a day one purchase for me every year and I've enjoyed Vasgersian's contributions over the years. But at some point I think you ask yourself how this game can take the next step to become a new, refreshing series. Im not bashing Matty V I love the guy but cmon now... its just been more of the same since basically 2006. Need some new blood!
I think in game he sounds bland and has become incredibly stale. There's tons of people outside of forums who feel the same way. It's something that I'm usually vocal about every year because I hope that after 11 years of hearing him maybe a new voice would replace him. It's gotten to the point where he makes the game's presentation very boring. Like you I agree many other aspects of this game are great. As far as the MLB Network presentation I can't wait to see what they bring to the table.Last edited by Artman22; 02-18-2017, 02:22 AM.NBA2K is the standard of sports games period.Comment

I've been thinking about this a lot and I do not agree with anyone who wants Matty V gone for good that would be just dumb. He is a great fairly young voice talent in "Real Life" What needs to be done is for for Sony to remove all the old recorded lines and then record all new lines with Matty V and the color commentary guys all at the same time! This way all the commentary guys can talk to each other in real time just like how it sounds on a real life broadcast. I think this is how it is done with NBA2K and you all know how amazing the commentary in that game is. Even MLB2K which has not been released for years had really great realistic sounding commentary. Trust me if Matty V was doing the commentary in MLB2K you would LOVE him!!!
So what I am saying is it does not matter who Sony hires for the commentary in MLB The Show. Until they change the may they record it it will continue to sound very boring and like a video game instead of real life. Now we have not heard MLB The Show 17 commentary at all yet so we should definitely hold our judgement until then. However unless Sony pulls a huge surprise on us all when the commentary twitch stream comes around in a few weeks all I really expect to hear is the same old lines along with some new lines and 2 new commentary voices spitting out the same boring video game sounding commentary that you heard in 16,15,14 and even way back to 07 on PS3.
I hope to be proved wrong!Last edited by tnixen; 02-18-2017, 10:22 AM.Comment

THIS! Ok you can change most of it yourself but I doubt a lot of people ever touch that feature besides the people on this forum.
Also the in between inning music!
I think its one of the more easy adjustments to get rid of the "stale" feel some folks have. We've been hearing the same tunesLast edited by LastActionHero; 02-18-2017, 10:36 AM."When it's all set and done, reality is the best innovation."Comment
