Re: Every Uni in MLB '17

I am also bummed they removed the '71 Pirates throwbacks. I know they won't be wearing them as the alternates in real life anymore, but was such a nice set to have in the game.

I also wouldn't mind that if, in the future, they gave us more home throwbacks than road/away. Simply because a lot of teams wear throwbacks at home for their own fans more than on the road.

But the biggest thing is that the uniform system needs more of an overhaul, in general. The uniforms take up a lot of memory and are still limited in design by the template that has been in the game for about a decade.

Fans really get into uniforms. Sales are important for all leagues for jerseys. And all sports video games are focusing on giving players the most options to wear in their game. MLB seems to have fallen behind in this aspect and is now playing catch-up. This cycle had a lot of attention to correcting uniform mistakes and getting what is in the style guide into the game. I think they know how important it is to us and are trying to work on it. It just hasn't been fast enough for some player's liking.

I think the biggest time this irritates me is for teams like the Orioles or Cubs, who have just blank jerseys sitting in those slots. It's just taking up space, because no one is ever going to use those. Ever.

I personally think it would've been cool to get a 'St. Louis Browns' set for the Orioles (for playing in Sportsman's Park in-game). If not that, than the orange & black alternate sets back in the 70s would be cool.

The Cubs are a whole thing. It's just beyond me how those old throwbacks continue to be there. The 70s jerseys could be there, and all they'd have to do is create ONE jersey, as opposed to two. All you'd have to do is double-up the Home Throwback, have two of them in those slots, then have the 80s one currently stay the same, and the powder blue one in the Old Road Throwback slot.

I give them all the credit in the world. They went above and beyond this year on the alternate slots. God bless 'em. And obviously they listen to us, because they FINALLY fixed the Astros Road Throwback color. Hopefully that's a good sign to the future.

Hopefully next year the Throwbacks start to get some love.

Yep. The Twins red looks great. The Braves jersey should be the exact same color, if you compare them in real life. They're the same vibrant red.

I've said this a hundred times so I don't know why this is so difficult for anyone to get. (Not you man, talking in general)... there is only one shade of red in MLB with the exception of the Dbacks Sedona red. That correct red that they got with the Twins red jersey needs to be used for every single bit of red on uniforms in the entire game. So if they can get the twins red right then they can get every red right.

The red in the Twins and Braves are pretty close, a sort of scarlet. But the Angels is more Carnelian. Now the Phillies, Nats, Reds and Cardinals do seem to have the same shade, a regular red, if you will. The Indians are also supposed to be a regular red, but sometimes it seems to have an orange tint to it. Not as obvious as the Marlins orange-red, but it does appear to have that shade at times.

Thank you. Every time I see the Tigers whites it gives me goosebumps. I love their whites.

I've heard it from those who make the jerseys and caps, all mlb reds use the exact same color code for their reds, including the Angels.

Whoever told you that was definitely mistaken.

You can look up the exact name and color codes for every pro sports team. This information is not private. You can even buy the exact shades of paint at the major hardware chains, in conjunction with Major League Baseball.

I'm not talking about hardware store paint for your man cave. Colorwerx color codes. I don't have to defend where I heard this from. Go buy an Angels cap and a Phillies cap and a Cardinals cap, cut out a piece of the fabric from each and lay them side by side. Let me know how they look.

Well yes, just making a point that the fabrics are the same color. Regardless, I'm not gonna keep up with this, not trying to bring heat to this topic, I've already stated my point. I do understand the hex color code thing that paint companies do for team colors but there are inconsistencies in that as well and not just with the reds. Oh well.

I have every MLB authentic hat hanging in my office. I can tell you they are not the same shades of red.

Sports teams specifically come up with their own individual colors for copyright's sake. They literally cannot be the same in most cases, in today's day and age.

There are millions of colors, the only ones that are typically used across the board in baseball are whites, blacks, and sometimes greys. Every other color within the game is pretty much at least one shade off from another team's color. Like I said, this isn't a secret. You can literally go and find every team's actual colors. They are not the same.

There is one shade of red, two shades of royal blue, and three shades of navy. I'm not getting into every color but there are not different shades of each color for every team that uses them. By your logic there's 75-90, maybe 100 different shades of colors in mlb.

Yea I actually walked into a lids today just to compare the red caps. The top row of reds STL CIN ANAHEIM TEXAS all looked identical. Maybe they were slightly different, but my eyes couldn't tell.

I can tell you that the Phillies red is the brightest shade and the Angels red is the darkest. None of the 3 are the same exact shade of red.
