Ok guys. I always select to do 12 teams. 2 from each division. My problem this is the al west. Seattle is my eceind favorite team. But im intrigued by oakland and have visions of rajai and Billy hamilton in tbe huge OF. Buuuuut im also intrigued by the whole rebuild of the Angels and possibility of having to trade Trout to start said rebuild. Which two teams should i pick this year?

Im leaning towards Angels and As. Leaning that way cuz im hoping to do a dream team in seattle. Mix players like Young A-Rod, Griffey, Edgar, Buehner, Randy Johnson, Ichiro with some current players like cano, felix, Cruz, diaz etc.

    What you guys think?

Did one with the Tigers on last year's game. Simmed 2016 (they took the Cubs to 7 games in the WS), and then tore it down, like the real-life Tigers should maybe have considered doing this year.

Got JP Crawford + for Verlander, Moncada and Kopech for Martinez and Iglesias, Mazara for Cabrera, Jon Singleton and Frances Martes for Upton, and I forget exactly what for Zimmermann. Signed Tyson Ross and a few other cheap vets to fill in the gaps for 2017, and finished 83-79 despite being ranked the 24th best team and trading some of the stopgaps for more prospects.

With about $120MM in surplus budget, I went hard in the 2017 free agent market, signing Bumgarner, Kimbrel, Altuve, and Cain, cashing in a couple of prospects plus Singleton for Paul Goldschmidt, and a few more for Sonny Gray and Stephen Vogt to platoon with James McCann.

There were more tweaks in subsequent years, but the fun of playing with near-ML ready prospects and supplementing with a ton of platoons (2017) and then more star power (2018) was a TON of fun.

      2018 lineup looked something like: Altuve/Moncada/Goldy/Mazara/Cain /Castellanos/Crawford/C platoon/CF platoon, rotation of Bum/Gray/Ross/Norris/filler.

A's have a farm system. Angels do not.

I want to find my Howard, Utley, Rollins lineup. Maybe Franco can be howard, still need more pop and speed. So excited to try this when the show comes out.

I'm not sold on J.P. Crawford at SS. His numbers don't scream teams #1 prospect. Still very young so there is time. Just not very high on him.

I've been doing my Rays franchise for a while and want to also start a new franchise once OSFM drops. Would the White Sox be a good team to pick?

                  My opinion...

                  1) Angels. They have some terrible contracts and an even more terrible farm system. Outside of Jahmai Jones, who's also a CF by the way, they have nobody worth beans.

                  2) Diamondbacks. Unless you can win with what they have (good luck with that), you're going to be in a for a few years of disappointment due to their lack of MLB depth and farm system.

                  3) Tigers. See Diamondbacks. A Dave "Dumb"rowski poop show.

                  4) Marlins. See Diamondbacks/Tigers. Plus, a severe lack of pitching. Another Dave "Dumb"rowski poop show.

                    Re: Best Rebuilds?

The team I always go toward is the Rays. I'm a huge fan of Kiermair, and they have some pieces that can be traded to rebuild your farm system in a hurry.

The only thing I don't like about them is their stadium.

                      Re: Best Rebuilds?

The biggest problem I have with rebuilds is I like to play every game or at least most.
How can I rebuild a team (over multiple years of course) while playing so many games, something has to give...

Maybe this year I'll play my full season with my Red Sox (as usual) and rebuild another team while sim/quick managing more.
