For some reason I've done the same routine since World Series Baseball 2K3:

1) Play Home Run Derby in some park showing off something new to the game (last year it was new retractable roofs so I played in Chase Field; this year, with the new SunTrust Park I will play it there).

2) Play Reds @ Giants at night.

I can't give you reasons now as to why I started that tradition back then, other than WSB was a new franchise for me and I wanted to check out some of the awesomely touted things in that game in all its glory. At the time, I know I played HRD in PNC Park, and as far as the exhibition game I wanted to get an epic Bonds vs. Griffey matchup going. That, or maybe the Reds were playing the Giants in real life on the day that I picked up the game (probably not the same situation since it was Spring Training, but oh well... just a thought).

Always enjoy reading this thread before release and didn't see it started yet, so figured I would...

What's the first thing you'll do on The Show '17? Ya know, after the game installs and stuff.

I always play an exhibition (BOS vs NYY) at Fenway at night, to get that Sunday Night Baseball feel. Will have to decide between starting Price or Sale this year, but I like that type of quandary.

How about you?

Day 1, first think I'm doing is opening all my DD bonus packs. I did that right up front in '15 and pulled Trout and Ted Williams. With '16, I had to wait 2 days to first play the game and pulled garbage (and always pulled garbage in packs throughout the year with '16). Then I'll start a new RttS.

Start a franchise, sim the first year, and look at stats at the end of the season. Then sim 4-5 years into the future and look at stats again to see how the balance is (like MLB of years past where things started to get skewed towards either pitchers or hitters after a few years).

Then start a RttS and wait for OSFM to start a franchise.

Play 1 exhibition game with the Reds then update all 40 man rosters to current and start a season with the Reds. Every year I wait and wait and wait. I'm tired of waiting. I'm just going to play this year.

For me, probably looking through rosters, check out some new faces, look thru new uniforms and CAP, seeing what new is there. Then a game with the Jays against a team. Since Atlanta has a new stadium, I may pick them as the team to play against. Then go from there. Knowing me it's probably personal roster work with games here and there.

Oh yeah forgot about the new RTTS, definitely gonna check that out at some point.. as a SS or a CP.

oh did I forget to mention that I will be opening all 20+ packs that come with the digital deluxe edition? I forgot about that. Since I discovered or rather tried and dove into conquest late and that my son will want to play me online this year I will not be getting rid of any of my cards this year.

Last year i was on a mission in my franchise to get as much cash as i could... this year no card gets sold every card stays in my collection... no matter how much i can get for them.

Stubs will cover my cash needs in franchise but i will be building a team for conquest that will take it down...

can't wait to open all those packs and start to build my DD team. 10 days left... oh the pain.. oooooooh the pain...

I will be ripping packs then moving on to doing the 6 west coast teams in conquest before I move on to the first event . Then the grind starts to get that Alomar card.

I've done my own roster. Will start a franchise with 16 (play no games), save it to cloud, download it to '17 advance to the regular season and get started. Won't need the OS roster this year. The faces should be close enough, if I need to fix them, I will.

I'm sure I'll go into edit player and check out the Pirates roster for ratings and new faces, stances, deliveries, etc.

From there, I'll probably carry over my franchise (still 1st season) to kill time until OSFM, then decide if I want to keep going, start fresh with Pittsburgh, or try another team so I don't feel boxed in by real events. If carry-over CAPs look like that guy from The Goonies or the big bad from a low budget horror flick, one option might be out. [emoji14]

First thing I always do, check out new faces/deliveries/stances.

Good timeline, but remember when they import players this years all the created faces are going to be messed up with the new graphics desighn. That means over 1500 players willneed face makeovers before release. OSFM 17 probably won't release until at least early May

Yeah I would say more like Mid-May.

I would still be surprised if V.1 werent still released in April, not that I'm in any rush.
My plate is so full, I could get by til June before I start up a new OSFM franchise.

Open up my packs and play some DD before starting a franchise to get some sliders down before I start my real franchise with the Yankees when OSFM comes out.

I will probably get a head start on my summer CAPs for my boys here in Louisville. Brendan is going to be a top five pick this year and we have several more top 10 or so round guys.
