The intro was epic. Not a Dodger fan but the first line gave me goosebumps. Not a retro fan. Got the trophies and I'm good. Really throws off my rhythm playing it. May try again later. The ball physics tho.... holy hell! That's some baseball there. Only complaint would be that I have hit way too many monter shots so far. Lucas Duda is like McGwire for me so far. Last year I raked with Alexei Ramirez 91 throwback. Regular Duda doing that so far. 5 HR in 3 games with him and all no doubters. Too early to worry. Sliders may fix it. Upping the difficulty will too. Servers get going and I'll be MIA with my friends.

I completely skipped MLB 16 (financial issues). I am playing as the Blue Jays (of course lol) vs the Cubs while the updates finish. On my 2nd at-bat with Donaldson I hit a HR. I am like, "yep, I will have no problems with this game"

I got a trophy the first time I pitched too! Silver trophy called You heft off mad or something. I am like, "damn son, you're the man!"

I am in love with this game and I am only on the 5th inning. I'm winning 3 to 1. I hit another HR (2 runs). I am loving this game! I couldn't wait until Saturday to play. Everyone who bought this game today is playing it for hours but my dumb *** (who works at home) is delaying game time. Screw that!

MLB 17 = the GOAT. Everything is improved. I am very happy with this game especially with the Blue Jays because I didn't think I would be good with them this early. This game rocks!

he aint got the talent but the hitch in his delivery throws me off so bad

I may be alone in this but I think the ability to play seasons in retro mode would be kind of awesome. Probably not enough people would care for them to justify spending the time on that, and I can't even say that I wouldn't get bored of it, but I like the idea of it.

I agree. They missed an opportunity here. I think there are a decent amount of ppl that would have liked to play franchise and season in retro. However, they would need to add all the usual options as well: replay, generated counts, all the stats, commentary, etc.

I dont know, I'm not sure retro is as fun vs cpu as it is just against a friend or your dad for a couple hours on a weekend. I do wish the stat layout could be used outside of retro though
If retro had too much more added I think it losesits "retro" appeal.
But maybe there's room for expanding the vison in the coming years

I recently bought my ps4 and this is the first time I play the show. I can believe how great this game is!
I am trying to adapt to the controls and the general gameplay, but cant believe what I was missing! And I was playing 2k12 with updates! This is at another level!

No season mode for Retro is definitely a dropped ball. I would love to play a multiuser season with my 9 year old kid. Him as cubs (he's a fairweather fan if there ever was one) and be as the braves. A patch maybe. To date the only baseball game ever where I played 162 is KGJ Presents MLB. I was kind of assuming season mode would be there.

OK I hit a double down the line. Now I'm not sure what the highest level any of you ever played. But for me I was always that extra guy and I got to play as an adult in a league that had novices like me and combined with some talented guys who just wanted some summer work outside of college. So i hit the tailing double down the line and it brought me back to when I played. Watching the spin of the ball as it clipped the chalk and died in the corner. I loved that. Definitely significant progress. Kudos to the developers! This is another step in the right direction about the actual feel of the game. That spin of the ball as it escapes the RF allowing you the extra bag. Very nice!!!

Playing my first game. In Cleveland.

Pros:
- Updated face models are amazing. Eyes look great.
- Ball physic improvements are great. Doubles down the line and such.
- I'm actually liking the commentary so far.
- Retro mode!

Cons:
- With the visual improvements, the game looks better than ever which makes the flashing on the outfield rails and such (whatever you call that) all the more distracting. Is this still an issue in 4k with PS4 Pro?
- talk about some moon shots haha.
- part of my display is cut off and I see no setting to adjust screen borders...

Cleveland specific:
- new scoreboard looks great.
- Finally tarps.
- Lindor actually looks like Lindor this year lol. Everyone looks great.
- I'm playing against the cubs in Cleveland and all the fans behind home plate are Cubs fans. Damn is this game realistic lol.
- I remember John Adams drumming being in last year and maybe the year before, but it didn't really sound the same. This year it sounds awesome like I'm actually at the park. Awesome.

Anyone ever asked why they've never implemented rain delays or rain outs?

I'm not huge on impressions all I will say is the Show 17 is the Ultimate truth!!! The game is flat out beautiful , gameplay is perfect , this is what we have been asking for !! I can't wait for rosters, honest this maybe the only game I play the rest if the year!!! I'm in total awe!! Game is amazing just amazing in my 4K hdr eyes lol

After playing a few games I am really impressed.

Pros:
Ball physics are great.
Lighting is amazing.
Player faces are great.
Plays well out of the box. (Probably won't need as many slider tweaks this year)
Don't seem to get sucked into the outfield wall.
Commentary is refreshing.

Cons:
Overall the game seems slower. (Ball off the bat, swinging, pitching and fielding)
Though the game is really smooth it seems choppy when I play my carryover franchise. (Maybe it's just me.)

Cardinal specific:
The textures in Busch, tarp etc. look tremendous.
Kind of disappointed that with so many options for other team's uniforms that they would take out the blue road alternate hats and the home Sunday alternate hat.

Overall I believe this will be a wonderful game as they really all have been.

I usually buy the Show every other year. I skipped last year due to the frame rate being inconsistent. Needless to say the "High Frame Rate" mode in 17 is a game changer! The game is stunning! I have a 65 inch 4K Oled so it upscales to 4K anyways when it High Frame Rate mode. The presentation is top notch, probably the best I've seen in any sports game. The amount of depth & options in this game sets the bar for what all sports games should strive for. I get so immersed when playing this game & that's probably the best compliment I can give.

All that said, there is still room for improvement. This game desperately needs to add Player Physics. Nothing kills immersion quicker than seeing a base runner slide right through my in fielder during certain animations. I cringe every time I see a player clip right through another players body. I hope they've been working on a physics engine in the background. The new ball physics are great but we need player physics as well. Also, outfielder's need some type of "true step" ala Madden. I've seen some unnatural movement when playing the outfield with players feet not planting properly & momentum not being respected.

Great game overall. Kudos SCEA! Just get those player physics in the game!
