MLB The Show 17 Impressions
But. Why do you want that? You complained about the game being aimed at hardcore sim guys, but I'd wager that what you're asking for, a nonstop hit fest where you score 100 runs, are a VERY small minority of the player base. My suggestion is play RBI Baseball. Or Super Mario Baseball, even.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions
Not sure I agree. Cranking Contact/Timing/Power/Solid Hits up to 10 will give you a pretty extreme difference in hitting success but player attributes (pitcher vs batter) will still have an effect, just to a sightly lesser degree. On the rookie difficulty I'm sure you could generate a hundred runs if that's what you're after.Sounds like you should give The Show a miss, though.Comment

Second, I will ask you the same question, why do you want to game that you have to spend 12 hours plus in practice just to figure out the mechanics, before you even actually play the game?
It is a video game, it is supposed to be some what fanciful.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions
I am still hoping the next patch will address some of The Show issues.
I never thought I would be playing on Legend mode and not brag about it. Expanding the hitting window has really dumbed down the game with an awkward overall baseball experience.Comment

First, I never said I did. I was just trying to illustrate, that if a game is going to bother to include sliders that can be edited, they need to function completely not half.

Honestly? I never had to practice it for 12 hours. I just jumped in and learned how to play on the fly. I guess I'm just better at video games? Lol I don't know how to phrase anything here without also insulting your ability to play video games, which I don't want to do. So I'll just say this. Your experience isn't indicative of everyone's. The default difficulties in the game are pretty expansive and play quite differently, and anyone who needs a little bit of fine tuning just has to go into the sliders and tick a few notches. Don't know what to tell you, man. Try a different hitting style. Work on your timing. I started on rookie and moved up progressively over time. This year is the first year I've moved up to legend. I've been on hall of fame for years, and before that I was on all star. I played rookie for an entire year the first time I bought the game, and then veteran for two years. I've been playing since the first Show.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions
After years of purposely avoiding playing online exhibition I finally tried it today and to no surprise it's still trash... A lot of lag, buttons not registering resulting in strikeouts looking, swing and misses, and missing the pitch meter, and animations lagging all over the place including strikes being counted as balls, etc. My connection is perfect I have Fios and wired so there shouldn't be any trouble on my end.
It was a 2-1 game with me going up to bat, last at bat and Headley hits what could be a homerun, the animations delay, the announcers call it like it hit the right field wall and bounced over the fielder, the game badly lags until it times out and I have no chance to continue the game... Seriously? They need to fix the bad lag and the problems that online has had forever. I told myself this is why I've avoided playing online for so long.
I needed somewhere to rant and unload so excuse me if I sound bitter. The game in general is great, it's just the online experience pisses me off so much. This is why I never tried DD or any of the other online modes that require you to play another user. Which sucks because online seems to be where the series is headed quickly. If they don't get the online lag portion straight, what's the point?Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions
Had a quick manage game in franchise mode where I saw 3 straight triples in a game. I believe this has never happened in a real MLB baseball game, and would be very difficult (if not impossible) to accomplish. This should not be happening in this game IMO.Comment

Awkward. Your favorite team did this exact thing a few years ago.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions
I've thoroughly enjoyed the game so far. I can see the balls great and have probably walked more this year than ever before...
I've yet played since the newest patch due to work but after I get off in the morning and get home from golf I'll have 4 days of The Show fun.
I've decided to pretty much auto all roster stuff (except lineups etc..) and the adjust to whatever dealings are done (And in process, curse the front office) just as a new experience.
I'll be grabbing OOTP to get my "All Power" experience.
I'd really love for them to add a deep create a manager for a RTTS Manager ModeJoshua:
