Currently playing through a RTTS with the Drillers. In my first year through mid July I'm hitting 254 with 8 homers and 33 RBIs. I am leading the team with 16 doubles as well. I was hitting 280. at the end of the first half but I've been in a slump recently. I've hit 3 home runs in the last 3 games, but beyond that I can't catch a break.

If you don't post a secondary position, will that stop the manager from moving you to a different position? I currently have 2 players, one is a power hitter Jim Thome type 3B and my other is a contact speedy CF'er. If I don't give them secondary positions, will they stay in those positions?Really wish sports games played to ratings!

Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread
Entering my 7th pro season (2023) with my player.
RF (OF) Jermaine Stocker
6'5, 232 lbs, from Toronto, Canada
B/T: L/R
2016: Stocker was drafted by the KC Royals. After batting around .300 with 12 HR in 110 games between AA and AAA, he was called up for the last game of the 2016 season, in which he went 1/4 with a double.
2017: Royals/Twins RF, age 20
Stocker started the year on the Royals bench, receiving sporadic playing time, with just 60 AB's in the first 60 games of the season. He didn't hit his first MLB homerun until August of that year, a 3 run shot to left center in Minute Maid Park. Fed up with his playing time, Stocker requested a trade, and ended up being moved to the Minnesota Twins at the deadline. He would start the rest of the year for the Twins, and after hitting just 1 HR for the Royals, Stocker hit 18 in his 61 games for the Twins.
121 games - 410 AB - 111 H - 19 HR - 59 RBI - 23 SB - .271/.325/.490 - 33/65 BB/K - 0.11 WAR
2018: Twins/Rangers RF, age 21
Stocker really came into his own this season, as he was batting .300 and led the AL with 22 HR at the All-Star break, before winning the HR derby. But even though Stocker and Miguel Sano were shining, ranking 1st and 2nd in the AL in HR, the Twins were still 4th in their division close to the trade deadline, due to a lack of offense outside of Stocker and Sano, as well as a complete lack of pitching. So the Twins made a decision that would prove to haunt them in the coming years, and traded the duo at the deadline, with Stocker heading to the Rangers, and Sano to the Angels. Stocker cooled off a bit, but still ended the year with 37 bombs.
150 games - 564 AB - 155 H - 37 HR - 111 RBI - 19 SB - .275/.345/.557 - 61/82 BB/K - 5.30 WAR
2019: Rangers RF, age 22
Stocker's ascent as one of the brightest young stars in baseball continued, as him and newly acquired Eric Hosmer led the Rangers to 102 wins. A sprained ankle cost him a few weeks in mid-May, but he never looked back after his return, finishing second in the AL MVP voting. The Rangers were swept in the divisional round by the Red Sox.
134 G - 503 AB - 146 H - 36 HR - 103 RBI - 38 SB - .290/.377/.579 - 68 BB/87 K - 5.40 WAR
2020: Rangers RF, age 23
Jermaine Stocker cemented himself as a legitimate superstar, joining the 40-40 club in 2020, with 45 bombs and 42 steals, as the Rangers won 100 games for the second straight year. He won his second HR derby, and went deep in the All-Star game. The Rangers lost in the ALCS, going down in 7 to the Cleveland Indians.
146 G - 570 AB - 173 H - 45 HR - 111 RBI - 42 SB - .304/.376/.605 - 63 BB/ 90 K - 7.30 WAR
2021: Rangers RF, age 24
There were signs that Stocker would have a great year. He hit .382 with 8 homeruns in spring training. But what he would do in 2021 was unprecedented. After hitting just 3 homeruns in April, he went on to hit a whopping 23 in May, and then 18 more in June, becoming the first man to hit 40 HR before the All-Star break. He went into the break with an OPS of 1.322. Stocker had a "quiet" second half, finishing with 65 HR, with a slash line of .348/.426/.765. And to put the icing on the cake. Stocker stole 50 bases, becoming the first member of the 50-50 club. The Rangers won 100 games yet again, but would fall in the ALCS for the 2nd consecutive year, this time to the Red Sox.
154 G - 216 H - 65 HR - 158 RBI - 50 SB - .348/.426/.765 - 78 BB/78 K - 12.40 WAR
2022: Rangers RF, age 25
No one, barring maybe a prime Barry Bonds, could have lived up to the hype surrounding Stocker after his ridiculous 2021. So it's not all that surprising that Stocker had a down year (at least by his standards).
He still played very well, despite a slow start, with just 12 HR in early June before missing 2 months with a fractured wrist. After his return, he got back to his old form, and ended the year with 29 HR and 87 RBI while batting .313.
For the 4th consecutive year, the Rangers won 100 games. There were rumors that Stocker would move on if the Rangers didn't win the World Series, as he was set to hit free agency for the first time that winter. Those rumors were never addressed, as the Rangers swept their way through the AL, before beating the Dodgers in 6 to capture their first ever World Series. Stocker won WS MVP, batting .400 with 3 RBI and 5 steals in the 6 game series win.
Stocker signed an 8 year, 278 million dollar extension in the offseason.
106 G - 396 AB - 124 H - 29 HR - 87 RBI - 13 SB - .313/.404/.629 - 58 BB/49 K - 4.64 WAR
Career Stats:
813 G - 3071 AB - 560 R - 929 H - 232 HR - 631 RBI - 185 SB - .302/.377/.612 - 362 BB/ 452 K - 199 2B - 29 3B - 26 E - .984 Field% - 35.50 WARComment

Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread
I'm approaching 200 career home runs with my 25 year old 1st baseman I started in MLB The Show 16. 3 straight AL MVP awards. Just entered my 4th full season with him. Spent 3 1/2 years with the Rays who drafted me. No postseason appearances. Had been requesting a trade and finally got traded during the Winter Meetings in the offseason. He begins 2020 with the Mets who appear to be in much better shape to challenge for a postseason appearance. Mets have 3 more seasons of my control now until free agency. Time to go for that NL MVP now!

Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread
I haven't played the show on newer Gen yet, still on the PS3. Are Trades out of control like the last Gen version? The CPU trading way to often with no real rhyme or reason. Most trades were lateral moves. It Was a real immersion killer.Comment

Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread
Continue to ask when your agent checks in with you.
I spent my first 3 1/2 seasons with the Rays. All losing seasons. Kept pestering my agent for a trade that season and finally got moved to the Mets in the offseason. Mets have me under control for 3 seasons before free agency.

Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread
Nearing the end of my CF's 2021 year with the Red Sox. Currently sitting at the MLB lead in RBI's with 99 in very early september. Also have 26 hr's and 36 sb's. So far walking at a career high 11% but also striking out more than I have in the past four years at 13%. The sox are just a few games ahead of the Blue Jays, and we are hanging on as best we can.
Can't wait for the new 2018 rtts features as well.PSN: Dalton1985

Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread
I hadn’t played in months and months, but I recently starting playing my Twins 3B, a carryover from last year, finishing out the 2019 season (My 2nd MLB season) in the first quarter now of the 2020 season, I’m surprising even myself, leading the league with 13 home runs through 36 games after only hitting 21 and 24 all of my first two seasons. I haven’t even improved my power much since last season because I’ve been focusing on my defense.A screaming comes across the sky...Comment

Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread
I'm wanting to know can you switch back to your original position ...
I made a RF and the manager talked me into moving to 1st base to help the organization. ..
Needless to say I've been playing 1st base now for 75 games.. I'm better than other starting OFs but coach won't move me back.
I moved because I was behind Carlos Gonzalez and Stanton & ichiro year 1..
Year 2 only Stanton remains
He is a 94 ovr
I am a 85. .
1st Base is extremely boring for fielding.. Might have to turn off fielding opportunitiesCatch Madden 15/ NBA 2k15 Footage on my Twitch Channel
