I wish I saved the clip but i forgot in all the hype. The crazy part was that I batted before in the 8th and I was robbed right at the fence. I would've been pissed if that was my last at bat lol

We made it into the Wildcard, won that then Detroit but Cleveland gave us problems. Down 3-2 in the series and I was last at bat with the score ironically 3-2 with one man on 1st. I hit the ball in the gap between 2nd and 3rd but somehow the shortstop dove and blocked the ball with his body, flipped it to 2nd from his knees and ended the game smh. I couldn't believe it.

Just started my 2nd season and I finally ended my 82 game hitting streak. I couldn't keep it up lol
What difficulty are you playing on??? Also what type of hitting are you using???

Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread

Ok so I have a pitcher with the Yankees was called up June 4th to majors straight from Double AA ball my first start was June 9th
      In the majors I am 9-1 with 80.innings pitched 16 BB 90 SO 1.46ERA 0.87WHIP
Despite having these amazing statistics in only 13 games played the Manager always pulls me early in games I just got my first loss because it was the 5th inning I gave up 5 total hits and 1 run we were down 1-0 my pitch count was at 75 and he pulled me before I could even play the 6th inning and it's like the Manager always does this with me he has the shortest leash with me I was wondering what do I have to upgrade in order to get the Manager to give me a chance like with those stats I only have 5 quality starts only because I get pulled a lot of times before the 6th inning with pitch counts in the 70s

Wait until the season is over then you'll be full time. When i got called up I was only the DH until Playoffs then the next season they finally put me at LF.

So I used the latest osfm rosters and for some reason Aroldis Chapman isn't on the game at all like he isn't on my Yankees squad he isn't on any team at all can anyone tell me why that would happen? Is it because he was on single A? Like how does one of the best players just completely disappear?

Just finished my first season with the Braves, finishing 81-81 and missing the playoffs.. Raked the first half of the AA season, making the all-star game and got the call up.

Absolutely killed it in my first half rookie season winning the NL rookie of the year. Playing on HoF/Default sliders/Zone hitting. Though I used the Coors Field Perk, going to take it off for my second season to see how big of an impact it actually makes.

I nicknamed my player "Mr. Solo Shot" because it seemed like the 1/2 hitters were never on base for me.

Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread

So after a early June call up straight to the majors My SP & the Yankees won 85 games and we just barely missed the playoffs by 2 games.
I had a great year prolly would of won rookie of the year and the cy young if It wasn't for the mid season call up.
I played 21 games went 12-2 with a 1.74era only 12 quality starts tho mostly due to the fact the Manager for some reason would pull me after the 5th inning no matter the score at times or how well I was pitching. I had 127 Strikeouts 22 walks gave up 6 HRs with a whip of 0.92 my war was 4.4
Pretty good stats for the #16ovr pick the 6'1 100mph fastball throwing starter is looking like a legend in the making

I'm playing on dynamic difficulty I am already at Legend using pulse pitching

Dirk has a limited repertoire of a 4-seamer, changeup, and sinker. His career got off to a slow start with a mediocre performance at the showcase. This led to his drop in the draft to the 6th round by the Orioles. He spent a 3 year career in the minors that included being traded twice until he found his eventual home with the Reds. By his fourth year in pro baseball he was ready for The Show in the Reds bullpen. By the end of the July he made the starting rotation before the organization decided he needed to fine tune some aspects of his game at AAA. After his stint in the minors he was dominant in the starting rotation finishing the season with a 7-6 record and 2.58 ERA.

After 4 years of pro ball Dirk has the following attributes.
                  83 OVR
                  81 Break
                  82 Control

After a successful rookie season Dirk is ready to take the reigns as the Reds opening day starter for the 2022 season. Stay tuned to see how the season unfolds....

Is the issue still present that causes the RTTS player to constantly lose his jersey number to in-coming players? It sounds really petty, but that's a deal-breaker for me on this mode.

Git gud, you only lose your number to players better than you. Work those stats, earn them points! It just edit the roster before you start and change all the players that have your number.

Well I got a SP for the Twins down in AA and of course like everyone I get asked to be a reliever, smile and say yep want to help the team, do a few games as a Closer and then get told I go back but now I am middle reliever all the time.
Not impressed with this at all. Will keep going but it looks like I may have to start over, I hope they patch this because it aint cool

I can not hit a damn homer to save my life!

I'm carrying over my guy I created on MLB The Show 14. He's been with me for 4 iterations of The Show now. I'm in the year 2025. I'm a power hitting CF, my power is beyond maxed with equip bonuses, contact is high 80's against lefties, high 90's against righties. Max vision, discipline, etc. I'm coming off a 46 homer season.

In my last 10 games, I'm hitting 19 for 39 with 14 singles! And 0 homers. I've only got 8 homers through the first 50 games of the year. I swear to the baseball gods, I have good timing on SO many pitches over the middle of the plate and either hit a grounder for a single, or swing through them. It's insanity. I've almost broken my controller like 20 times now. I swung through 4 wheelhouse sliders with good timing in the SAME GAME.

I try to use directional hitting to influence more flyballs, but he seems to only hit MORE grounders when I aim it upwards. So because of that, I don't move the directional camera very often anymore.

Any tips/recommendations to start mashing more? I've got the difficulty at All-Star. I did have it set to Dynamic and it was up at Legend (because I hit like 2-3 singles a game *mad face*) but I turned it down a bit to hopefully help with power. My guy's average is so inflated. I'm hitting .389 right now. That's just stupid. I've hit 43 singles on the year and I'd gladly trade all of them for about 7 more homers and 10 more walks.

Use the directional hitting guide here on OS.

You basically never want to influence upwards unless you're facing a mad sinker. Pull/Down/Push are the main 3. (For me I always pull or down)

Guide goes into detail about what influences on what counts to use
