Always use Griffey's stance. I don't really play enough as a pitcher.

That's awesome. I haven't seen that or heard of that happening in any Show game.

I just picked up 2017 today and transferred my closing pitcher career. In my first training session I received gold and 2000 training points. In 2016, I think the most I ever got was around 350-400. Do training sessions yield more points this year?
Yes, they do yield more points, but your opportunities to train are far more rare. So I think it kind of evens out over the course of a season.

Which is hilarious because I just had a training session at 3rd base with 5 base hits.....needless to say i failed....lol

Started a RttS as a SP. Drafted by the white sox, I've done 3 SP's and all 3 have been to White sox. Anyway, the do the "please be a reliever" thing for 10 games. Like I had a choice. Do that and get moved back. Started of age 19 season I get moved to Triple A. Struggled and got sent back down to double A. Later in the season get traded to the Brewers. Get the call up in my age 20 season in August. Go 4-2 with a 3.55 ERA 44:14 K:BB ratio and a 1.34 WHIP. Not bad for a rookie that's sitting at 73 overall. Started of age 21 season and they want me to be a closer. Of course there's nothing I can do to stop this so I take one on the chin and be a closer. I've complained to my agent to get moved back and nothing.

Question on that though, if I go the entire 6 years with being a CP, will I ever be able to get back to being a SP? Even if I hit Free Agency? My stamina is at 84 and I train it once every 59 days so it doesn't go down.

I finally did it! After years of playing the Show, I've thrown a perfect game! Also accomplished 20 K's and completed a Maddux! I'm super amped!

I have some pics here ( https://imgur.com/gallery/E8PRR ) to showcase how it all went down! Woooooooo!

Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread

I live in Germany and came across the doctor's office of Dirk Hammer and thought that is a pretty cool name, probably more appropriate for a slugger but I like playing as a pitcher. This spawned the creation of Dirk Hammer 6'9" 219 lbs right handed pitcher from Germany.

Dirk has a limited repertoire of a 4-seamer, changeup, and sinker. His career got off to a slow start with a mediocre performance at the showcase. This led to his drop in the draft to the 6th round by the Orioles. He spent a 3 year career in the minors that included being traded twice until he found his eventual home with the Reds. By his fourth year in pro baseball he was ready for The Show in the Reds bullpen. By the end of the July he made the starting rotation before the organization decided he needed to fine tune some aspects of his game at AAA. After his stint in the minors he was dominant in the starting rotation finishing the season with a 7-6 record and 2.58 ERA.

After 4 years of pro ball Dirk has the following attributes.
                  83 OVR
                  81 Break
                  82 Control
                  81 Velocity
                  82 Stamina
                  65 HR/9
                  61 BB/9
                  72 K/9
                  77 H/9
                  30 Bunting
                  45 Fielding

                  With the following MLB Stats
                  G - 40
                  GS - 16
                  QS - 9
                  W - 7
                  L - 6
                  ERA - 2.58
                  IP - 136.0
                  H - 111
                  BAA - .220
                  K - 129
                  BB - 27
                  WHIP - 1.01
                  WAR - 3.3
                  K/9 - 8.54
                  BB/9 - 1.79
                  HR/9 - 0.86
                  FIP - 2.99
                  ERC - 2.28
                  PFR - 1.15

After a successful rookie season Dirk is ready to take the reigns as the Reds opening day starter for the 2022 season. Stay tuned to see how the season unfolds....

I'm having a similar issue. I wanted to be a starter and after I've wasted hours on this rtts player I see that I've been permanently moved to middle reliever smh.

I haven't bought the show in a few years and decided to try out this year's version because of the recent sale. I read that position changes were temporary and we'd have a chance to move back but that's not the case for me. This is the only mode I play on this game. Hopefully someone can clear this up because this is disappointing. I wouldn't have wasted money on this game knowing what I know now.

In 4 careers I've never had this problem that alot of people seem too, but all I can say is.. do you have an old save point? Because the common thing to do, like any video game really, is have 2 seperate save points... I save twice every time incase my team makes any bad trades and especially when the position switch occurs. I also save a few files before the deadline and keep simming through it until they make a good trade (My Angels traded for Jose Ramirez)

Crazy game I just had, went 18 innings. I didn't show up during the first nine but showed out on the back 9.

Bottom of the 10th, losing 4-5, I hit a solo shot to tie.

Bottom of the 15th, losing 5-7, I hit another solo and we score another run to tie.

Bottom of the 18th, tied 8-8 and they still haven't learned there lesson. STOP HANGING CURVEBALLS. Walk off solo shot. Ballgame.

                          4-8, 3 HR, 3 RBI, 2 K, 1 BB

So with 73 HRs, at my last at bat of the season and with 3 men on base. I took a strike with the first pitch, the 2nd pitch hit foul but the 3rd.........No doubt HR and a grand slam! I wish I saved the clip but i forgot in all the hype. The crazy part was that I batted before in the 8th and I was robbed right at the fence. I would've been pissed if that was my last at bat lol

We made it into the Wildcard, won that then Detroit but Cleveland gave us problems. Down 3-2 in the series and I was last at bat with the score ironically 3-2 with one man on 1st. I hit the ball in the gap between 2nd and 3rd but somehow the shortstop dove and blocked the ball with his body, flipped it to 2nd from his knees and ended the game smh. I couldn't believe it.

Just started my 2nd season and I finally ended my 82 game hitting streak. I couldn't keep it up lol

Has anyone had an issue transferring their '16 account to '17? I'm getting an error "This saved file was not advanced one calendar year in the previous year's release". Do I need to have played a full calendar year in game in order to transfer? The saved file is over a year old from the game's release.

Yea same thing happened with me I have a Starting pitcher for the Yankees and they asked me to move to late inning reliver and at first I said yes thinking it was temporarily just like in minors but I always save like 3 different times after every game for just in case purposes so I played a few games as a reliever then simmed the season to see if I ever got moved back and all the way to the off season I was still a reliever. I immediately quit and went to my old save and was like hell no I want become a reliver lol and they were cool with it
