So 2nd series of the year I lose the opener to the Reds and Alex Bregman. Won games 2 &3 and took the series. Jose Berrios got 18Ks in a complete game shut out in the rubber match for me.

Stepping it up to All Star pitching next series against the Washington Nationals. They are headlined by Daniel Murphy , Jose Abreu & Andrew Benitendi. I will face their 2 Jimmy Nelson 3 Gavin Floyd and 4 Homer Bailey pitchers respectively. But the kicker is their relief corps Trevor Rosenthal , Michale Feliz and Liam Hendricks :P So I better not get down late.

On the Farm:
I created a pitcher named after my son to be born this month and entered him into the fantasy draft at 70 ovr. I pitched his first game in Triple A against Ubaldo Jimenez and got the W. 7ip and 10ks. Won 5-0. Ill write up my Triple A roster next !

Well...

I spent the last 2 nights (literally) uploading players from various rosters to make a full franchise playable roster...with guys from the 90's-07...you will see no mike trouts here - full on flashback to the good old days!!

The roster is:
Flashback Fantasy 90-07

Hope anyone interested enjoys it, there may be a duplicate or two, but they are a horrible verision of the good player (ex: I believe there is a 90 Jim edmonds and like a 69 edmonds as well)

Astros Flashback Franchise

Well after putting in all of that work getting the roster ready...I HAD to do a draft, and I will say after struggling all year to find something that I could have some fun with, I believe I have found just that.

Going into the draft, I had the 24th overall pick, and I decided to go with guys I wanted instead of "value" mainly because, well why make a roster like this and not have fun? Heres a look at the 25 man roster:

Through the first five games of the season, we are 4 -1, having taken two of three from the Nationals in Washington. then taking the first two games in Flushing with the Mets.

Springer was on fire through three games but since leaving the nation's capital his bat has gone cold. Severino got through seven strong no-hit innings before he got gassed in my last game in Flushing against the Mets.

The bullpen gave it up at the first batter of the bottom of the ninth, however. We still won the game going away as they say but would have been nice to get that feather under my cap.

What has helped me finally find my desire to play is my hitting camera. I have tried several camera setups but preloaded and custom. There was one I guess I never gave a shot. That would have been RETRO. Once I started using that specific camera angle for hitting my overall enjoyment of the game was back.

I just wish I would have really giving this hitting camera a good look right when this game dropped because I have missed out on a great game this year due to having no desire to play it due to thinking the hitting was broken because I couldn't hit.

Going back to the original point of this post. I have tried playing as my default A's. the Padres, Rangers D-Backs, but have come back to the team I had in 15 with the Marlins and a fantasy drafted team.

I have tried to draft teams all year long with no love or any of them I started out thinking that I did love them but over a few games coming to the realization that it wasn't going to work. So I would start by trying a different draft strategy.

This time I decided to use the assisted draft option. they would suggest what position to draft and I choose from those players. I did this for the first 25 rounds. then I just turned over control of the remaining rounds to the CPU.

So that is my story so far... let's see how far I can take them. Oh not that it matters but I am using OSFM 1.5 rosters.

Just played the 3rd series of the year. Upped the pitching to Allstar and still doing well. Jus wanted to leave a few tidbits over the past 5 or so games played :

Jus finished a 16 inning game that was 0-0 until the 16th. Only had 23 chased pitches in 16 innings.. Any way to help this ?? 215 pitches.

I hit into soo many DPs. Have to make a major approach change with men on.

Almost always late on the inside fastball

Playing simulation style , I have a lot of good timing and nooo hits or contact. So frustrating siting on a pitch and nothin. Considering H2H style where stick play is key. Anyone play this way ?? Im sure stats / splits are still heavily weighted ??

Felt like hitting X gets me alot of line outs to OFs. And some teams collectively pitched to contact so Square was my best option to make the contact count sometimes.

On the flipside. My last game Square was cursed (as was everything in a 16 inning 0-0 game) Could not touch the ball 1 time. Trying to hit the ball on the ground netted me my only hits.
