Thanks. I figured there was a way just never could figure it out. Don't ever think much about R3 for some reason.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Q&A

Forgive me if I'm out of line here but am I the only one who has the CPU team seemingly get superhero like and my team get case of the derps so to speak when leading late in games?

What I mean is...I can have say a 3-4 run lead into the 8th inning and suddenly my pitchers can't buy a strike no matter how little I move the stick or how short I hold/tap the button giving up gappers for 2Bs and runs all over the place and my fielders suddenly can't field routine ground balls to save their lives.

This is only my 2nd year playing The Show and the first one where I got the game at the beginning of the MLB season (I got 16 in mid-September of 2016 and played it until I got 17) so I'm just wondering.

This is in quick play now games against the CPU using a variety of teams.

Again...forgive me if I'm breaking some kind of OS board code by asking this but I am truly wondering. Maybe it is just me and I just want to clear it up for my sanity.

There is no comeback code or comeback cheese if that is what you asking. Most likely you use the same pitching pattern to batters the entire game and the computer catches on.

Maybe so...it just seems odd that it seems to happen all the time.

Every time my team derps, I have to remind myself that they are leading the league in fielding percentage and defensive runs saved. Derps are infuriating beyond anything, and it's often hard to let it go, shrug it off, and say "That's baseball". I've been where you are. I know what it's like.

If a runner(s) is forced to the next base because of a walk, they can't be thrown out at that base. Example: Runners on 1st and 2nd, batter walks. Runners are awarded 2nd and 3rd respectively, Batter goes to 1st and no play can be made at those bases. This is why teams always send the runner on 3-2 with 2 out - there's no risk of being thrown out on a steal because a strikeout ends the inning, a walk is a free base, and a hit basically guarantees a runner scores from 2nd (or 1st, if it's in a gap). Once they reach those bases, they are again fair game. If something happens with the defense (wild pitch, throwing error back to the pitcher, etc.) they can try to advance at their own risk.

If they are NOT forced they advance at their own risk. Example: Runner on 2nd, batter walks. Runner at 2nd can try to advance if the catcher misplays the ball, but does so at his own risk.

Both of these scenarios can happen in the Show if the catcher makes a misplay - when that happens in the game, the ball is never "dead".

I probably made that sound a lot more complicated than it is but I wanted to cover all the bases (pardon the pun).
Thank you so much for the response. That helped a lot. This situation happened to me in The Show recently and I got caught stealing on a walk with a runner on 2nd with full count and 2 outs. Didn't realize it was at base runner's own risk

Is anyone playing on HOF with default sliders? How is it? I'm crushing All star with a certain slider set

I had That Feeling for about two seasons,LOL. You have to have the time and patience to play this game. It is a lot of work. Play it like a real game and you will know it is mostly You and not The Show. You have to see what pitches you are throwing each hitter and not be in a rush. The AI in this Game is AWESOME

You need the PS4 version of '16, save it then you can import it into '17.

Sorry if it's been asked but has anyone else had a problem in franchise, doing a fantasy draft and the CPU setting terrible 25 man rosters. Most CPU rosters have 15 pitchers and only 1 or 2 bench guys..I guess the only fix is 30 team control and fix every team??

It's the first time that I bought this game and I'm really loving it. Just one question : Is it impossible to choose a random weather on Franchise mode ?

I hold right on the d-pad then press X. That's probably as random as you can get.
