Re: What is your "White Whale" in the Show?

Single game strikeout record and back-to-back World Series are the two things I'm shooting for this year with the Braves and Strider. I've never had a perfect game, but have completed a no hitter. I don't know off hand if I have ever hit for the cycle, but I believe I have. I've never had a four homer game either.

Another from a season standpoint, I have never had a pitcher win the Cy Young.

No doubt. I still believe the runner was safe at 3rd.

          Re: Your White Whale

In my 15 years of playing the Show I have only thrown 3 no hitters and one perfect game. It has been awhile (Mlb 20?) since I have done it. I remember doing it in the playoffs with Jeff Samardzija on the Cubs. I actually uploaded the video to YouTube I was so excited. MLB 12.

I have won probably 8 World Series in all my franchise seasons which I estimate to be about 70ish seasons as I usually get anywhere from 5-7 done for each iteration.

So the no-no is much more way then winning the whole thing!

            Re: Your White Whale

            I finally did it!

I just completed a historic moment. However, I was both thrilled and at the same time a little disappointed at how the game addressed it. After months of grinding, TJ Friedle of my Reds franchise broke the hallowed consecutive game hit streak.

I didn't jack up any sliders or replay any games, it was a straight, no cheat experience. And as I got closer and closer to the mark, I was envisioning what the cutscene might look like when and if I actually did it.

I actually think it was pretty cool how they handled it. Not amazing, but not bad. Congrats!

Have done an immaculate inning a few times with my RTTS closer. Haven't won a ring yet. Would like to win a ring and also beat Rivera's all time saves record.

I've been playing The Show for over 15 years and for only the second time ever, I've managed to get out of a pickle. I must say its almost as satisfying as winning a World Series. I was on firstbase and a bad pickoff throw gets away from the Brewers firstbaseman. He chases it and I'm off to second. But the 1Bman gets a lucky break bounce and quickly has me dead to rights at second. Meanwhile the pitcher is covering first, and I attempt to hightail it back. The 2Bman throws to the pitcher and I'm heading back to second. But the Milwaukee 1Bman is too quick and he has already run to in between the pitcher on first and myself, me still heading to second, so he cut the throw off from second right where I am and I'm quickly getting back to first. I thought the Milwaukee 1Bman was going to tag me but instead he tosses it underhanded to the pitcher. He has to stretch high to catch it and I'm sliding back safely into first. It happened all so quickly but at the same time it seemed to take forever. I can't describe that time frame adequately. It was awesome, it was scary, it was strange. Another BIG phew.

Lo these many years, I finally did it. I got a balk out of the CPU.
Not your traditional balk but still, a disengagement balk. I had a runner on first, not really trying to steal second but I am trying to stay out of a double play. CPU Pitcher throws over to first, ball goes into the dugout. That automatically moved my runner to second. To my surprise it says 1 disengagement left. I thought it would start back over at two withe runner at a different base. My mind starts racing because I know I get further leads at 2B because SS and 2B doesn't want to be too far out of position. I get the second disengagement but easily get back to base. No disengagements left. I do it again, really getting a great lead. CPU pitcher has no choice, tries to pick me off to no avail, I'm back on base easy. Disengagement balk, I'm standing on third, doing Ahab and Ishmael proud, Moby be dead with a wooden peg leg shoved in his blow hole.

This game. It has so many big fish to catch.
I had 6 Plate Appearances with Hunter Goodman tonight.
AB 3 4 and 5 were HR's. I very easily could have hit 5 HR's in one game. AB 1 and 2 were deep shots to the warning track. The last Plate Appearance, unintentional intentional walk on 4 pitches, couldn't swing at any of them. I feel like I remember hitting 4 in one game so I didn't mind the walk but if I had gotten a few more feet on the first two AB's, Goodmen would have had a real game to remember.

To the last will I grapple with thee.
