Re: What is your "White Whale" in the Show?
Ive done almost everything thing in this game. Hit for the cycle, 4 homer game, homer with pitchers, Perfect game etc. But some things I would love to get, a 20k game. Ever since I went to legend years back high strikeout games are extremely rare.
I would love to lead the league in fewest double plays hit into. Drives me up a wall when I hit into them.
Have a team overall batting average near 270. I cant seem to be in the top of the league (to aggressive and to many double plays) I did however lead the majors in walks in my current franchise in year one.

Re: What is your "White Whale" in the Show?
Double plays are a legacy issue. Everyone who runs a franchise is pretty much guaranteed to lead the league hitting into them.

I'm using directional and adopting a lot of up influence when a runner is on first and less than 2 are out. It's not guaranteed to prevent it, and it does come at the cost of more strikeouts and popouts, but hey, those are better than a double play.
I've only got the perception test for you, as I don't have stats in front of me (I'm out right now) but from my perception it appears to be working, and if the trend holds, I will not be leading the league in double plays. Actually so far (based just on the games I've played) I seem to be one of the best teams at avoiding it.

I'm actually doing pretty well this year. I'm 10 games in and I think I've only hit into one.

Re: Your White Whale
well, that just chaps my hide: I just went yard @ PNC with an almost 450 foot shot, one bounce into the Allegheny,
but I just cannot hit one like that @ Camden Yardsball simply doesn't carry for me there. I need to check out wind speed and direction, that has to be the culprit keeping me from hitting the B&O

Originally posted by Caulfieldbeen obsessing on hitting the B&O Warehouse at Orioles Park @ Camen Yards. hard to believe it hasn't been done IRL outside of HR derby. I feel like if I replay enough Show 14 with that version of Chris Davis I'll eventually do it. hope there's commentary on it as well...
...they say homeplate to the B&O Warehouse is as close as 440 feet, from what I can gather. it's strange it hasn't been hit in a game.
in any event, I'll keep my harpoon ready, you never know...

I did it, I finally did it. did it in Show 17 in a Play Now exhibition game versus Cleveland & Kluber. 499 foot shot to center-right field w/Davis, just like I always figured it probably wouldand Matt briefly mentioned Davis hit the wall but I can't recall exactly what he said

Re: Your White Whale
I've hit 4 home runs... Was with Matt Olson for my A's in MLB20. He was god mode.. for some reason, his stance/swing is just so perfect and I'm so good with him..
Gotten close to no hitters but always cough up a b.s hit in the 8th or 9th..
I only started playing in MLB20 so I haven't had many chances at the cycle/pitcher home run etc..
I did play 162 games in 20 with the A's and won the world series vs the dodgers!! Won multiple games that would've sent my home in the previous series, then when I got to the Dodgers I smashed them 4-1Comment

Re: Your White Whale
Threw my very first no hitter with classic pitching on MLB 22. I only had thrown a no hitter on the Show in 2009 but it was with meter pitching (back before I made the move to classic pitching).
No ball marker, no vibration.
Luis Gil tossed a no hitter and was one walk and one HBP away from perfection.
We did this vs the Rangers.....it was really special. He was out of energy in the 8th and 9th and we somehow did it.Now Playing on PS5:
CFB 26 Hurricanes/Fresno State Year 2
MLB The Show 25 - 2025 Yankees Year 1

Re: Your White Whale
As per others I’ve never completed a full season. Got close with 21 (September) but 22 came out and I couldn’t wait to switch over!
Very much on course so far, I’m just behind the actual season and that’s without having much time to play so think I’ll be done come august/September.
Threw a perfect game with John Lackey (red sox) years ago but if I’m honest with myself I’m not sure the difficulty/slider settings were challenging enough for it to be a real achievement. If I get one where I’m at now (legendary with CPU contact turned up to 7) then I’ll be putting it on my CV!Comment
