My first was with Cliff Lee in ‘11. I’ll never forget it. I’ve thrown two more since. One with Kershaw in ‘16 and one with Gio Gonzalez in ‘14. Came close a few other times. But the 7th inning always seems to be where I give up 1 hit or walk and then shut it down the rest of the game. That damn 7th inning.

Re: What is your "White Whale" in the Show?
I have played all 162 games multiple times.
I have won the World Series twice. MLB 11 and MLB 12.
I have turned a triple play. First time ever was in MLB The Show 17.
I have hit for the cycle.
I have thrown a no-hitter. Did it with a RTTS pitcher in MLB 09 or 10.
The one thing that alludes me is a perfect game. I'm not counting Rookie difficulty grinding against the CPU in Diamond Dynasty. I want to throw a legit perfect game in a Franchise game.

Re: What is your "White Whale" in the Show?
I've never turned a triple play.
While I have hit for the cycle, it hasn't been something I've been able to do in the last 3 to 4 editions. I get close, but I end up missing out on a single or a double or what not. Because of that, I would consider the cycle at the moment to be my White Whale, even over the triple play.Check out my updated 2017 blog on building a high school football video game:

Re: Your White Whale
I still need a triple play.
I got the cycle late in MLB17 and with a slow slugger no less so definitely unexpected. Triple in his first AB, I didn't think anything of it.
Then got the double and single. Fourth AB runner on first stole a base so he got IBB and I was like...ugh nooooo.
But he got a 5th AB. Whacked the ball but it was slicing foul... I had just gotten ready to be disappointed when I heard a lot CLANK as it glanced off the foul pole on the way down.
What a HR to get a cycle on. Seems more like a HR that someone like Tony Kemp or Mallex Smith would hit. Not a guy with 90 Power lol
But there's no style points or "cheap HR" in baseball. It's a 450-foot bomb in the box score tomorrow."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: What is your "White Whale" in the Show?
How about K'ing the side on just 9 pitches? Done that twice so far this year.
I would've said mine would be the perfect cause I've thrown numerous no-nos over the years.
However I threw one in like my 3-5 game on this year's game with Kershaw, it included 17K.

Re: Your White Whale
Playing a full season in franchise mode, playing every game.
Finishing a career in RTTS. I was playing so much RTTS a few years ago with a guy I had on the Giants got like 3-4 seasons deep that year playing every game had realistic stats, didnt get called up too fast but then they introduced the story mode and I decided to restart.
Have not gotten through 1 season since, I think if I still have the save file this year I am going to pick back up with my guy I think he is a third basemen on the Giants, in his 4th year. I remember I was hitting like .400 which was one of the reasons I quit it because I didnt really like the unrealistic stats but if I have the save im jsut going to let the season play out ."Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion!"

Re: What is your "White Whale" in the Show?
I've done this before but it has been a while since I usually play with fast counts now. Of course while they are sorting out getting the pitch counts to show when using fast count, I may go back to regular pitch and see if I can do it again.Check out my updated 2017 blog on building a high school football video game:

Re: Your White Whale
Same as OP. I had one in the eighth. But then DeGrom hits 2 batters and then I give up a home run.
I've had a no hitter in 15 the show though. Also I've come close to 20 K's.Comment

Re: Your White Whale
I was thinking this today and wondering... A lot of people have their white whale as a full 162 game season, but has anyone ever completed a full season of franchise playing every game at every level?
I was just thinking this because I did a scouting trip to my minors today, still mostly using quick manage but playing a few at bats/pitches.Comment

So close. Haven’t done it since ‘16 I think. Double in the first inning to Derek Dietrich. Was perfect the rest of the way and didn’t even realize it till the end. My disappointment was suddenly realized lol.Comment
