Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

Not sure whether or not to take this trade. Year 2017, OSFM 2.5 rosters. Pirates offered a trade of Austin Meadows (in MLB hitting. 268, 6hrs, 19 RBI) for Ozzie Albies (AAA hitting 290 with 1hr and 10 RBI). I still have Camargo at AAA and also Maitan at AA. Not a lot as far as OF in my system. Would this be a legit trade?

However, I knew O'Neill (a top 50 prospect) was a big ask and totally see your point that if they were even going to move him at all that maybe they'd want a bigger splash than Martin.
I'm guessing that you reallllly want O'Neill (CANADIAN!!!!!), so what if you were to toss Acestrada into this deal? I know that if you're looking for prospects, you'd get more value by splitting Russell and Estrada up, and I'm guessing there'd need to be more pieces moving around, and I have no idea how the M's rotation is doing in your franchise, but they're preeeeetttttty bad in mine. Just a thought, and I could be way off base with it.

It's pretty rare that you see two top prospects dealt for one another, but their value is relatively similar.

As a Braves fan I'd be all over this fwiw.

Not much, he hasn't been healthy now for a few years. Right now he might fetch a low level prospect but if he had a full year of health and good production, that value could go up.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

Approaching the All-Star break and my Cubs are leading the NL Central by 6.5 games with a 52-33 record. I, much like the real Cubs am looking to bolster my pitching. As I've stated before I'm interested in a lefty reliever (I've had my eye on Sean Doolittle for a long time) but I'm also intrigued by the possibility of another top-teir starter, primarily because I'm likely to part ways with both Jake Arrieta and John Lackey in the offseason.

The Oakland Athletics are 36-50 and in last place in the AL West. I'd really love a deal that included not just Doolittle but also Sonny Gray. Obviously, I know this will require some decent pieces from me. I have recently called up Ian Happ and he's been absolutely on fire for me. Not surprisingly, I really don't want to trade him. Is there any deal you guys can think of that would include both Doolittle and Gray without me including Happ or Jiminez?

Neither of the A's pitchers are having a great season, for what it's worth.

Other pitchers I'd be interested in are Zach Grienke and Gerrit Cole.

Brett Anderson has been awful for me and I'm looking to replace his spot in the rotation. Even if it means me DFAing him and calling someone up. However, I'm going to have to address my starting pitcher need either before the trade deadline or in the offseason.

You're going to have a really hard time upgrading pitching and keeping Happ and Jimenez. If you'll move Schwarber it would help but you can't really ask for a great return and make your valuable young guys off limits

I agree. But there's some other pieces. Schwarber is in the midst of an MVP season and probably my favorite player. No shot I move him. However, I'd deal Albert Almora Jr. and/or Jeimer Candelario. What about Doolittle alone for one of those two straight up?

Yeah one of those should do it. Use Almora Jr. They already have Chapman and Healy. I was more talking about fixing your rotation. With all you have off limits you won't be able to bulk up your rotation in any meaningful way

Yeah, I agree that I'd have to include Happ or Jiminez for any top-of-the-rotation guy. Even if Gray has had a bad couple years.

Okay guys i'm coming to the end of June in the first year of my Marlins 'chise. We are completely out of it at 22-46 and I'm ready to start the full rebuild process. First on the chopping block is Dee Gordon as I haven't decided whether I want to move Stanton or not.

I saw several pages back that someone suggested 2 B potential prospects for Gordon. Does that still stand with his current stats of .237avg .290obp 13rbi and 21sb. Obviously as the Marlins I am looking for pitching.

                            Teams in contention NL:
                            National 45-24
                            Mets 44-25
                            Cards 40-29
                            Cubs 39-30
                            Giants 48-23
                            Dodgers 37-24
                            Rockies 37-35
                            Dbacks 34-36

                            Teams in contention AL:
                            O's 39-29
                            Jays 37-31
                            Yanks 37-32
                            Rays 38-34
                            Indians 36-33
                            White Sox 35-34

                            A's 37-33

Open for any ideas but really want to send him to a team that need his services. TIA

What about to the A's for Logan Shore and Matt Olson? Since Dee is playing poorly it is a little less than you'd expect. Most of the teams you listed have a better 2B than Gordon

I'll have to take a look at them when I get back home. I know its probably a long shot, but is there any possible way to pry Honeywell away from the Rays. I know they have Miller but his numbers are absolutely awful. I am willing to part ways with anyone except Yelich. Thanks for the reply good sir.
