On a players page there are Zips and STEAMER projections. There's also the expected aging curve which is +.25 WAR ages 18-27, +/- 0 WAR ages 28-30, -.5 WAR ages 31-37 and -.75 WAR ages 38-Retirement

So this is speculation for me trying to see if i have this right.

Tanaka if he does not opt out would be

      (17.9x 9 Million- 89 million) = 72.1 million of value?

So quickly checking your math that looks about right. Assuming you go off of last year instead of his projection

Correct. There isnt enough to go off of this year yet otherwise he would be negitive alot id assume from his first outing. I will probably start using this years WAR projections once we are at least a 1/4 a way through this season so taht there is enough stats to project this season out.

Also if Tanaka opts out at the end of the season he would only have a value of 17.9 million which is not much of anything in the huge scheme of things.

So how do rentals get so much in return at the deadline like a chapman for torres

No. Those projections at the bottom were preseason. They didn't factor in his terrible start

I am a math guy but what I dont understand is it is hard to rely on this as by the law because lets say in my franchise Yelich for example say has a war of .5 at the midway point in the season. We both know that his value is still higher than the .5 WAR he is putting up. or say at the end of year one in my franchise he only accumulates 1.1 WAR on the year. Should his value be based on the 1.1 for value the following season?

I'm having trouble putting a trade value on Puig. I would like to move him to Oakland, would Barreto + Doolittle be enough or too much?

I think you are giving up quite a bit to much.

I agree. With that said, is Oakland considered a team that would partake in the Puig sweepstakes?

Probably not but no one really knows what the dodgers will do with Puig until he grows up and has more value.

I believe they would. He has 2/14 left on his contract and a 3 year extension this year would make him much more affordable/valuable than EE who they were chasing on a 2 yr deal.

Do I have Puig too high or Doolittle too low? Earlier in the thread it was suggested 2 B's and a contract, I was trying to work within those parameters with me just eating the money.

Been messing around with my Orioles in a playaround franchise until OSFM comes out. I can't pitch with Wade Miley, just too wild. And I am someone who can pitch with Ubaldo fine for whatever reason. I know he has no trade value besides being a lefty so i am not looking to deal him but I need to upgrade the rotation.

This is a tough one, I know if I deal say a Brad Brach or even a Zach Britton I could get a starter back but it probably wouldn't be a major league ready guy but at the sametime the farm system is terrible and besides Chance Sisco or maybe Trey Mancini I don't have anything to deal that would get me back anything better than what I have already?

                            Any ideas for trade targets?

You have Puig to high. I would say the prospect straight up for puig is still a little high in my opinion

Id say at most 1-2 high C prospects
Oakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit Tigers
Pittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay Packers
