Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Tigers have some solid B prospects, Manning would be one of the only prospects I'd prefer to keep.

MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
With a farm like Detroit has you'll have to lower your sights on a speed guy if you hope to keep Manning or have any prospect off limits. Rajai Davis is fast. Terrence Gore is fast. There are others, but the Reds would want someone with a real future to give up their Gold Glove level CF who breaks the 20-80 scale with his speed
Okay would Manning do it? I'm iffy but would like to have it as an option. I'd like to bat Kinsler second.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Puig is hard. He's got so much potential. If he wants to keep SRF. He could use Alford as his headliner

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
How do I do the math that you guys are in order to work out if im getting burned on this deal:
(its 2 transactions due to game limitations)
PIT send -
McCutcheon
Josh Harrison
Kang??
LAA send -
Alex Meyer
Brandon Marsh
Espinosa
Heaney
Calhoun
Simmons
My thoughts are:
PIT have shopped these 2 this winter and as such a deal is there to be made.
PIT get 2 of my top prospects in Meyer and Marsh, both rated B.
Espinosa gives them more pop than Harrison, but is a minor downgrade, yet comes in at $4m cheaper and his deal expires this year.
Calhoun is a serviceable outfielder and is tied in for 3 more years.
Simmons is a big upgrade at SS
Heaney B rated SP but coming off Tommy John.
LAA get a legit superstar to backup Trout in 'Cutch, plus take on his deal and the gamble of free agency in 2018
Harrison offers a more consistent bat and fielding option at 2nd
Kang has ?? as im not sure on the move to add him as a 3rd wheel in the deal.
Genuinely interested on all thoughts from those more experienced, as im ready to pull the triggerComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I had to restart my franchise as I had forgotten to use 30 Team Control and had also forgotten to remove players like Price (Boston) and etc. from the A Rosters. They never got called up so players who were only going to miss a few weeks, ended up being out almost all season.
My Rangers are performing much better than my last outing and I'm leading the AL West by 1.5 games over the Astros. Like my last franchise, I've dealt Profar, Guzman and Smoral to the Royals for Hosmer. Also like my last franchise, I have interest in acquiring Phil Hughes. His stats are as follows (Mid-June):
W/L: 6-5 | ERA 3.48 | 82.2 IP | 1.21 WHIP | WAR 1.1
In my last franchise, we agreed that a straight up swap of Hughes for Perez was fair as the Twins received a young, cheaper, struggling but still full of potential starter. I also took on the entirety of Hughes contract. However, my situation has changed. Perez is pitching lights out and currently holds the 3rd best ERA in the AL (16th Overall because the NL is insane). Thus, I don't have any interest in moving him. My weak spot in the rotation is Tyson Ross.
W/L: 1-6 | 6.68 ERA | 63.1 IP | 1.61 WHIP | WAR .3
I know a straight up swap isn't fair. The Twins are 12 games back in the Central behind the leading White Sox (WTF?) and should be willing to move Hughes. If I take on Hughes whole contract, is a swap of Ross, Jairo Beras and Chi Chi Gonzalez fair?Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
When is the last time you saw a trade with one side giving up 3 MLB guys and the other team giving 4 MLB guys and prospects. This trade just has way too many moving parts. But if you are deadset on running the numbers we can, but the Angels are giving up way more at first glanceComment

Take the prospects out (does OSFM really have Meyer and Marsh at 80+ POT?) and focus on the numbers you have available. Proven everyday players. You might be surprised what you find you have in Calhoun and Simmons.
I'll reinforce my earlier statement, the Angels don't need a rebuild, they just need a few pieces and they will be competitive. I think I'm going to have to change course and run an Angels franchise and prove it to myself."for love of the game" - B. ChapelComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
McCutcheon $34.5 million in surplus
Josh Harrison $6 million in surplus
Kang?? $51 million in surplus assuming little to no production in 2017
LAA send -
Alex Meyer $15 million in surplus
Brandon Marsh $20 million in surplus
Espinosa $9.9 million in surplus
Heaney $15 million in surplus
Calhoun $90.5 million in surplus
Simmons $79 million in surplus
So the Angels are getting robbed blind.Comment
