I really thought it was my connection that was the issue but it seems the servers are horrible. It was never this bad with the last gen versions.

Small studio + tons of new consumers and higher than anticipated demand = downed servers.

Servers crash the beginning of every year. Traffic is probably 10x what it will be for the rest of the year.

Please, please give them a break. Servers are frakin expensive, and not exactly easy to maintain.

Posts like this are the reason these issues keep cropping up every year. They know they can get away with a little heat because people are out there willing to "cut them slack" or "give them a break". We should not stand for this. If you're going to hype your product, take our money (and not be required to refund it) and then don't deliver, we should all be livid. I didn't pay to have a game that only starts working after a couple of weeks.

Posts like this are the reason these issues keep cropping up every year. This is aggravating as ****! Every little menu change is a 45 second load. I can't wait to see what an online game is like.

The servers being overloaded affects OFFLINE FRANCHISE PLAYERS also, because every time you play a game, win a game or whatever, you get a new card / item of some sort which has to ping the servers.

So in turn, offline players have to wait 45 seconds to a minute between every game because the servers are overloaded trying to give us cards that we don't really care for.

Definitely will not be preordering/buying at launch next year, if at all. Also, hypocrisy doesn't mean what you think it means, but whatever dude.

Here I thought I was done with done with NBA2K.... Guess back to it for awhile, would prefer to be playing The Show though. Clearly nothing was learned from past release day massive failures.

RTTS is nearly unplayable due to this stupid server issue. 45 second plus load times between series is ridiculous. Guess I'll go back to Madden for a while.

I consider myself a pretty level headed person. I don't get frustrated or upset about much (except Madden league game, haha). But this is getting a little absurd and I'm getting somewhat frustrated. It takes 5 minutes to even get to main menu because the servers are so slow. I don't care about DD, I get that some do and that's cool too, but I just want to get into my franchise to play.

You had this game at launch last year (via your post history) when there were launch issues.

You again bought game at launch this year.

You, accusing someone posting about patience is the definition of hypocrisy so yes, I understand the meaning of the word.

But that's not the point here. It's quite unfair for you, a paying customer, to accuse another equally paying customer of being "part of the problem."


Paying customers, nor their opinion on a forum, have anything to do with the problem that we are ALL going through at the moment.

Buying at launch and being pissed because the servers are horrible does not equal hypocrisy. Actually as a paying customer he has every right to be pissed because and this is key, the online aspects are an essential part of the game now. If the servers are broken it means the game can become unplayable, even with offline modes like Franchise or RTTS.

So, as a paying customer who has paid for MLB the Show he has every right to complain because the servers are broken and regardless of his buying habits that does not make him a hypocrite.

Also, why on earth are you citing patience? The game has been released, he's paid his money, he has every right to be impatient when an important of the game is broken. This isn't a case of him getting it early and having to wait for everything to be turned on, the game is officially released that means everything should be working now, not in a few weeks.

I'm not sure if you even read the discussion because I never said any of the above.

I agree 100% that he has the right to be upset and voice his criticism and voice his complaints.

It's hypocritical as one buyer who has complaints calling out another buyer with a different view as being the problem.


Again, it's fine, and not at all wrong to be upset. It's another to call out others who aren't as upset as being part of the problem. That only causes a divide amongst the community which is the last thing we need at the moment, everyone wants the same thing.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with problems. Had a blast playing RTTS and franchise last night. Came home after a long day of work and I've been stuck on the main menu screen for a good seven minutes and counting. Don't care about online just want to continue my progression and if these servers and screwing things up they need to fix it ASAP. I'm sure they will, but it's quite ridiculous to turn on a game and have it basically not work. Unacceptable.
