Finally was able to connect tonight and everything seems fairly snappy in the DD menus. Haven't tried playing any online games yet though.

I'd like to see OS use their connections to SDS for an interview on this subject. Not just a single throw away question, but something longer with follow-ups and clarifications. I'm guessing one of the bulletpoints waaaay down in many years' marketing sheets is "improved online play" or something similar, so it'd be great to know what it is that happens every Monday night in late March that destroys the online experience.

I'm sure it's more complicated than "we don't want to spend the money for enough servers" but since we never hear any explanation, or why it's a problem every single year, Occam's Etc would suggest that that's the likely answer. That and everyone logging in at the same time.

Or maybe that is the explanation and who needs an interview for that?

By the way to everyone who plays offline modes like me: you can turn off your network connection when playing the show. This will make your load times significantly faster and will free up space for online players.

Don't worry, you'll still get your rewards the next time you log in. The game remembers what you've done. When 16 launched I turned off my network connection for a month. Got a waterfall of cards the next time I logged in.

When I got home from work yesterday (3:30 pm EST) I logged in with no problem and played a Vs. CPU DD game. Everything worked fine, got my mission update for beating the Rays, it counted my hits with Brock Holt and what I did with Griffey Jy., and gave me my post game drop.

Once it hit about 5pm EST, everything slowed to a crawl. I didn't get kicked off it just took forever to load anything. I ended up playing RTTS the rest of the night.

I robbed a HR in a DD game and my game froze. This game does not want me to have fun.

So fortunately since release I've been crazy busy and haven't had a chance to play. I was going to try this morning...but, if servers are still messed up I won't bother and stick to fifa until this is fixed. I play mostly DD...am I safe to go on or are things FUBAR?

People were saying that yesterday things were fine in the morning and bearable in the afternoon. It was when everyone got off work/out of school that the servers started having connection issues again.

I was finally able to log in last night around 1am E. The servers ran pretty smooth for the two hours I was on since hardly no one was online at that time.

People were saying that yesterday things were fine in the morning and bearable in the afternoon. It was when everyone got off work/out of school that the servers started having connection issues again.

I opened my packs in the morning with no issues, but when I got home and tried to play a friend in DD we just sat there staring at a screen for 10 minutes waiting for it to connect us. Hoping the fix it soon, I know this is just as frustrating to them as it is to us.

I'm about ready to take this game back... I want to hold out hope but this is the worst online sports game at the moment I have ever seen. PES online makes this game online dated even


why are the menus so dated? Seriously trying to play MLB the show online makes me appreciate FIFA so much more. FIFA's online is at least 10 years ahead of MLB the show.

just getting into a game in MLB the show reminds me of the days when the first online games started on Playstation.. that's how out dated it is. You send a challenge in a game room to someone.. they have hit the quick menu button which should be called the slow menu button.. then when that eventually comes up you go to challenges.. then view challenge and then finally to where you pick teams.

in fifa.. you send a friendly request... it popups on their playstation menu and you can accept just like your getting a party request. and boom your in game instantly...

MLB the show is a good game but I don't buy games to play offline..... and maybe that's my mistake thinking MLB is going to be decent enough online to play ..

with that said i was able to finally create my DD team for the first time since Monday night and get in an online match with a friend but it was late after everyone went to bed. when in game it actually played solid as far as button lag and precision but yeah it took the entire night to get in that one game starting from 6 pm central and finally got into game 11pm central. Like someone else said. the menus and opening up packs took forever and horribly slow. bad experience

I'm not sure who is charge of MLB the show's servers.. but whoever is needs to basically double the amount of server over whatever they have now. THey need to be realistic about this. If they don't soon.. I"m taking this game back. everyone I have talked who i was going to play online franchise and DD with is going to do the same as well.

This is just unacceptable in today's video gaming age.. NFL2K1 on the dreamcast on 56 dialup worked better than this. Sad

trying to play this game for me and my friends is just a horrible experience for me right now.. there is no other way to put it.. and i'm trying to be nice about it.

Won a DD game yesterday and it didn't count. Lost a DD game just now and it didn't count.
