    Re: Too many HR's?

I can tell you that we imported the 1987 Roster over to MLB 17 and I just went back to back to back and I know for a fact the power ratings are lower. Tom Brookens, Chet Lemon, then Dave Bergman? That should not happen

I did run a season sim and only 21 players hit 30 home runs so it may be up a little but I am not seeing anything too drastic

      That's right you did.

Yeah I was at the point of advancing to next season when I stopped '16 and bought '17. I then started Spring Training.

Good question as to whether that has prevented me from seeing the issue or if it's something else.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Ok this happened yesterday in a vs CPU DD Conquest game - 3 innings, AS difficulty, stock sliders....

Also another one from yesterday same setting as above but 9 inning game (also used contact swing only in both videos)

I think that may be why I'm not seeing any bombs of outrageous distance. I'm playing analog. That said I'm not giving up any of ridiculous distance either. My home run pace isn't out of whack but they do seem to come in spurts.

I do also have wind turned down to 2.

Which camera angle are you using for fielding?

In the past broadcast hasn't resulted in what seem like floaty line drives. I'll try it tonight. I noticed it but I was using retro which was similar to the angle I used in nfl2k, so I chalked it up to that.

I agree that there is a bit of floatiness on some line drives.. like they're just hanging in the air and carrying farther than they should. Though, since I've altered my sliders, I haven't seen it nearly as often.

It's a sign of either perfect contact being made too often, or power in general being too high. As both of those are things that I believe can be mitigated somewhat with sliders, I started a thread on this issue in the sliders thread. Would love any additional input you guys have.

i might have to revise my opinion on Russell, seeing as he just blasted one onto Waveland IRL with a right-to-left crosswind. Wouldn't be surprised if that went at least 450.

I think Im considered a beginner level for hitting and I think its getting close to veteran. I'm on that Adaptive Difficulty dynamic thing...where it adapts depending on how you play? Is that what it is called?? Anyway...

All I changed in the sliders was I increased my contact and timing I think two notches up. 20 games, into my franchise now. Started out at rookie. I'm doing the directional swinging so maybe I should look into another batting method because I'm really having a hard time getting consistent hits. I'm not ashamed that I'm still pretty rotten in hitting and probably hitting like a beginner but I've always struggled hitting well in this game over the years so I don't mind adjusting the sliders to make it a little bit more enjoyable for me. I do tend to use that power swing a bit too much and I do the guess pitch a lot too. Maybe trying to change my method would be a good thing

                      Ranked online, HOF pitching/hitting

                      Toronto, directional hitting.
Texas ( me ), zone hitting.

7 HR's ( and related to what me and some other users wrote on the "Double" thread, one double )

This is straight from the horse's mouth but, unless we crunch more numbers, it's just and educated guess. Anyway, and correct me if I'm wrong, at least 1 hit out of 5 is an HR (600k home runs, 3m total hits). Well, Obviously it's just my reading, so take it with a grain of salt.

The amount of successful steals bugs me as much as the homers. On average, 40-45% of total stolen base attempts for the entire league are unsuccessful in a given season. The playerbase successfully stealing 75% of bases is a ton.

The 75% steal success rate isn't actually that off from the MLB average... which is 71 - 72% in recent years.

The too many hr discussion/issue finally showed its ugly head.. just gave up 7hr to Baltimore and hit 4hr myself in the same game. Default legend pitching and batting.

Also noticing the CPU simmed league stats for hr are high. Through 5 games the Astros have 16hr!!
