Do you remember Dan Ugla, I remember a game when he made 3 errors in one inning

I think he was referring more to "a video game" having a bad day.......

In my opinion it can be coded "a bad day" just like anything else. That's part of what makes the game fun.

You know, this could be the exact reason that some games your guys just can't get things going. Your four hitter swings through a fastball that any other at-bat, he should have crushed.

Your Gold Glove SS boots two balls in a game, or Knoblochs a ball into the tenth row of the first base stands...

I just wonder if there are some games where the dice roll, or the ugly-stick gets waived onto a guy, and for the sake of stats, he just plays a crummy game?

That would be kind of awesome if it were true.. Talk about adding some realism...

It's the humanity element added to the game and it is just like what happens in real life. Guys have off days and the game replicates that.

If a game codes in "bad days" to the point that it takes control from the player, it ceases to be a game.

Question is: do you want to play as yourself in the batter's box, or do you want to play as another player? If you're using Kris Bryant's power to slug a home run, then why shouldn't you also depend on his condition that day?

So, there's a few issues at play here. First, we know SCEA's intent is to create a simulation (and thus you lose some control), but we don't know to what extent. We can hypothesize all day, but we just don't know to what extent certain real-life variables influence in-game simulation and performance.

Before we dive into whether player attitude / mental condition should be part of MLB the Show, we should figure out if it's even in the game.

I have a simple request I've been making legendary rosters since they were first offered.
Through the years there's been 1 thing that really bugs me.
When I make a legendary player I want them to have the correct number on their Jersey.
Simple in concept but not so simple in practice.
                        There's been work arounds.
I brought up a roster from last years franchise and for the life of me I cannot get number four on the Jersey of Jackie Jensen( Boston Red Sox )
I had a work around in this year's roster but this was Ported from 16 franchise and I don't know of a workaround.

Basically, if there's not a reasonable videogame reason for every outcome in a game, then there's no reason to play, IMO.

In the end it's all moot anyway. There's no way anything like that exists is in any modern sports game that has microtransactions. Can you imagine the backlash if people found out some games were essentially fixed and there's nothing the player can do about it? LOL

I get that but even on his very worst day Jose Altuve isn't gonna just stand there and let a guy reach 1st base or botch a simple throw with Kendrys Morales running down the line like he did in those videos

And if that's something that could possibly be coded into the game then that ish really needs to be fixed

The DP turn and the baserunning mistake is something that I can live with but the other 2 just shouldn't happen
