Re: MLB the Show 18 Wishlist: PLUS Things they should PATCH for MLB 17
In RTTS, I'm on 3rd base - bases are juiced. Batter gets a hit, I score and just walk to my bench rather than telling the guy behind me to slide or stand. This has been bugging for a while.Last edited by Mitchrapp; 05-02-2017, 10:18 PM.Favorites:

It is time for San Diego Studios to get on par with NBA 2K and Madden and get some type of update system built into their engine so they don't need a patch update for everything.
MLB The Show biggest feature should be tunning updates
1. AI updates to reflect real world tendencies
2. Hitting adjustments, i.e. changing the size of the PCI changing hit windows ect...
3. Pitch Count logic

Just stop dude, I'm talking about a feature set that can improve games, which tunning does and you come in here trolling for attention.Comment

Trolling for attention? Who does that? Certainly not me. Maybe you should just move on if my post bothers..Favorites:

Re: MLB the Show 18 Wishlist: PLUS Things they should PATCH for MLB 17
A couple of things I only think about when I'm actually PLAYING the game, in Franchise mode, that could be better and probably aren't that hard to make happen...
"Humanity AI" stuff that are "legacy" wonks...
#1) On foul pop ups, batter just stands there like it's between pitches and the catcher is literally on top of him. There's no "recognition" by the batter to move out of the way. Wonky.
#2) Dead ball after a base hit, the fielder with the ball will throw it to the pitcher no matter where he is, which is usually behind home plate or behind third while backing up the play. Wonky.
Easier access to stats/splits DURING an at-bat. Specifically, vR and vL, K rate, etc., for a hitter and pitch tendencies on a given count for pitchers. This would REALLY deepen the at-bat experience, which is THE major part of the game.
A better stat menu/system. This is a simple UI complaint. One little scroll bar that goes on forever if I want to check L/R splits for a hitter? C'mon, man...Comment

It's been mentioned, but I'll put my vote in for editable coaches/managers. If you can do it with the players to make the game as real as possible, you should have the same option with fake coaches.Comment

With the emphasis on shortening the time it takes to complete a game. I wonder if they could implement the "fast forward" option that is available in HR Derby into actual game play? I believe the triangle button is used during HR Derby.
For example, lets say you hit a lazy pop fly to center, 99 times out of 100 this will be caught by the CF, I think it would be nice to have the option to fast forward through this animation and move on to the next at bat. Now for that one time where the CF miss plays the ball the fast forward animation would be negated and a slow-motion animation (similar to the animation on steal attempts) would take place to allow the user to make the necessary adjustment to take the extra base.
Just a thought on how to make full games shorter with something that is already implemented in the game.Comment

I know they said they will not allow players to rush the mound and bench emptying won't happen because the MLB won't allow...I wonder what about CPU teams throwing at batters when it calls for it "unwritten rules of baseball" something like what's playing out with the O's vs Redsoxs not to the level but if I hit a no doubt home run bat flip in a big game "go ahead run" against a division rival next time up they throw at him.

2k isn't made by EA. I find the tuning updates for NBA2k to be effective if not overdone (constantly tweaking shooting to appease the twitterheads). It would be helpful for The Show alsoComment

Re: MLB the Show 18 Wishlist: PLUS Things they should PATCH for MLB 17
FIX BUNTING, and I know how to do it:
In the current bunting system, we have control over the direction we want to place the bunt, but we have no control over the type of contact we make. This takes away the skill of having to put the ball in play and means that I am almost guaranteed to get the ball down (or popped-up) over the course of an at-bat. I have never once struck out with a player trying to lay down a bunt.
A lot of the issues we have with bunting could be nerfed if they allowed us to use a (slim, bat-sized) PCI to control our bat, and then make the direction of the ball dependent on (1) where it's pitched (2) the type of contact that is made. Bunting is difficult, and laying down a dead ball down the line should have to be earned.
Also, another game changer would be improving throwing location variability. We see the same three types of throws over and over again. If you're in the green, you're nearly always perfect. Yellow, will pull you off the bag. Red might make it to the stands. What I'm suggesting that instead of having these three outcomes, we should have a rolling meter for accurate throws. Meaning we could still have a red, yellow, and green zone, but just blend them together, so that not all green throws are treated equally. If I center up a throw, it should fly on a line. If I'm in the green, but turning on yellow, zone, the ball should be accurate but it should drift slightly. We take throwing the ball for granted, with 99% of our throws being dead-accurate. The more skill and variety we can add to the game, the better!Comment
