With the coaching carousel that is taking place, I really hope we see some improvement in this area for '18. Edit coaches, view others team staff (when single team control), have coach hirings/firings added to LEAGUE TRANSACTION section.

So much I'd like to see in this regard. Something more than a name and a letter grade in 4 varying attributes.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I'd love to see manager styles/tendencies (quick hook, calls for steals often, prefers youngsters/veterans; prefers platoon, plays best offensive 9); Edit names and assign broadcast vocals for names, etc (same as players). Why not be able to see the opposing staff even if playing single player? Every manager can see who is employed by other teams now.

As an aside when playing with 'authentic' rosters and managers/coaches in almost all sports games it is a bit ridiculous that they think we have to 'discover' traits of the players in the league. Fifa is funny that way; I need a scout to tell me about Wayne Rooney? But I digress...

I'd also love to see what was in one of the older games where owners would have general and specific goals. It wasn't executed well (like dump Gary Sheffield when he was JUST signed in the off season) but I thought had some potential. So if your goal is win now, and you don't, you get less budget next year; or maybe pull a Florida Marlins where after you win it all your owner wants you to slash salary and rebuild over 3 years. Maybe that's too much to ask but baseball can me more amenable to these things than other sports games.

Would love to see manager styles/tendencies as well. Managers are just a name in the Show. Need them to have more of an effect on the game itself.

This is a presentation 'wish' but if a starter has a good game and he's replaced by somebody out of the bullpen, I'd love to see him walk to the dugout and tip his cap while the crowd give him a standing ovation.

Also I'd love to see them build on the MLB Network integration and improve the other two presentation styles so that they're on a par with other broadcast packages - regional and national.

One thing I think others have also mentioned is the feel within the game presentation for the big events. I just had Game 7 of the ALCS with the O's coming back from 3-0 down to Cleveland to win 4 in a row for the pennant, and outside of the introduction to the game 7, during the game it felt like a regular season game. Only in the last inning did Matt V mention the Indians last hope to continue their season. The crowd was on their hands all game until the 9th. I would expect home crowd to be cranked to 11 during playoff games. Maybe too much to ask but citing the rarity of coming back from 3-0 down? Likewise, if a player produces milestone events (no hitter/perfecto, milestone home runs or strikeouts) let's get emails telling me that these things occurred. I don't listen to the morning radio call as last year he kept saying things like "Allen Craig had a big day driving in 4 runs" then I'd check the box score and he was 0-4. Of course then I would want a new tab to show me current year milestones/events so I can see who has done what (a la OOTP).

Again in big games being able to mention the manager's name and good/bad decisions (even generic like "going with the lefty yesterday and pulling out a big win to keep the series alive") would be nice. And here too, managerial traits could make playoffs more interesting: managers who go with three man rotation or 4, use starters in playoff games in relief, shorter leash in playoffs for starters, longer leash for closer; can they program a 'final game' scenario where all hands are on deck...somethings that can affect the use of players and diversify the approach in playoff games from one manager to another.

I don't know if someone else mentioned this idea already but I haven't seen it yet but thing I would like to see added to MLB The Show 18 would be the ability to save multiple lineups in DD. One lineup for playing ranked seasons and one for playing the computer grinding out missions. It might sound lazy but I find it time consuming having to change my out players depending on how I'm planning on playing. It would be nice if I could just toggle between multiple lineups instead.

If they ever include an option for your catcher to go out to the mound, perhaps they can add a small thing where you can have your catcher stop putting down certain pitch calls. Say my changeup gets hammered a few times, call the catcher out and 'tell him' to stop calling for anymore changeups. (I know you can just shake him off but still).

Please give me immediate control over my defense as soon as the ball is in play, regardless if it's a foul or not. Really hate those blooper hits that go right over my middle infielders because it doesn't give me control and they just stand there.

Spring Training: I think ST could absolutely use some updates. I think being able to add non-roster invitees would be a great addition. Perhaps the ability to setup two or three guys for legitimate position battles. Maybe even have split squad games. Just something to jazz it up some.

Expand trade options: The ability to work out a three team trade would be phenomenal. Even though it is more rare to see in baseball than, say, basketball, having the option would still be nice. And the ability to have a PTBNL or throw in cash considerations would be cool - though, I have less hopes of that becoming reality.

In-season contract extensions: Yes, I know it's beating a dead horse. But it is a wishlist, and I do still wish for it.

Rain Delays: Again, dead horse. But it would really add to the realism, and it's not like it hasn't been done before in other baseball franchises.

The Newspaper: Yes, I'd really love to see it return for Franchise. The 'Inside the Show' show is alright, but I tend to find myself skipping it a few games into the season. Much rather have the paper back, or if you want to update it for the modern times, make it a website or blog.

Now, for the gameplay aspect: Players having the ability to actually collide: Having been playing The Show since the 989 Sports days, it's always bummed me out that 2K figured out how to do this back in like 2K5, and we've never seen it come over to MLBTS. Not that it's a big deal, since The Show has always been the superior game, and I wouldn't want it happening frequently, but, it does tend to make me cringe when you see two fielders converge upon one another, and either nothing happens or they phase through each other.
Good ideas. Personally I'd rather have a social media feed to complement the radio show. Players, teams, sports writers all chiming in with their thoughts on the games and season as it develops. Including trade gossip. Much like NBA 2k does it. It gives an opportunity for them to build some player emotion into the game. Newspapers are almost a thing of the past now and anything more than a one line soundbite would be skipped in no time. I'm speaking for myself there.

better PFP animations tired of my 1st baseman sprinting a mile to get to 1st base when i know theres no chance for him to get there in real life. ther could be at least a dozen cool animations just for this aspect of the game.

would love to have catchers that would throw behind the runner on all the bases. lets improve the catching animations for blocking balls in the dirt would also help with catcher ratings. also unless the ball rolls to the backstop or close to don't have the runner advance as they wouldn't risk it in real life.

keep improving bat and ball animations could have a bunch more cool animations with foul balls off of knees and leg and shins and ankles. a foul ball of leg ended Eitheir's season. could have alot of injury's with this. the same with pitchers at least have trainer come out to see if he can continue to pitch. something of that nature.

collision detection!!!!! its time we need to see this in the game!

improve game play to make more realistic so don't have to spend 6 months tweaking sliders to get a realistic game stats wise.

i love this game don't like living in slider hell to get realistic stats and results as i am a MOM gamer.

Something else I'll throw out there is that I'd like to see rosters expanded to 100 players (Make Single A have 25 players) and then I would like them to add the Arizona Fall League to help develop young talent, especially just drafted players.

In regards to the newspaper, I'd love to see it come back along with the radio show. I enjoy listening to the radio show while I'm viewing transactions, roster management, and such after a game. Nice to just hear a wrap up on the day. But the newspaper could have other things such as trade gossip as mentioned, milestones reached by players, and other news that doesn't necessarily pertain to wins/losses and boxscores.

I want one cookie-cutter artificial turf stadium. Either the old Busch, Three-Rivers, Riverfront, or Veteran's. Or even a generic one similar to the three. And don't put any team names so that I can pretend I'm playing at any of those places. Imagine how much more you can immerse yourself in the game with retro rosters had you been able to do this. This screenshot would have been a lot better.

                          Rotating interleague schedule
Smarter AI roster management (call ups/call downs, lineups, pitching rotation)
                          A lot more player celebrations
The face guard I see a lot of people wearing now
                          More catcher equipment
Better logic when it comes to awards

Idk if any of this has been mentioned but they probably have

                            1. Game /pitch calling attribute for catchers

                            2. Pitch framing attribute for catchers

                            3. Pick off attribute for pitchers

                            4. Seperate stamina attribute for position players

                            5. Unless I've missed it and have no clue on how to do it, for quick counts, id like to be able to bring in a new pitcher or pinch hit for my pitcher or anyone else for that matter, before the count is generated. I think either have the ability during a cut scene before the batter walks up or maybe regenerate the count if a change is made.

For 18, I would like to see them add top prospect names to the Audio List so that when they are added to the game, either officially or by roster creators, they'll have audio.

That way, players like the Braves Ronald Acuna could have audio from Opening Day on.
