Re: MLB The Show 17 Patch 1.09 Available Now, Patch Notes Included
Yea your right never in baseball has there been a high scoring game. Oh just watched the Rangers the other night against Cleveland. 15-9. Totally unrealistic. Why did you buy the game. Every post you make is negative. Write a letter to Ramone and tell him how messed up him and his team are. You are living in a fantasy world if you think any video game out of the box without slider adjustments is going to play out 100 percent realistic. Get Out of the Park Baseball. No one here understands what you want for realism. Every game to be 5-3 with 8 hits per side. It seems you live in this little world of if the game doesn't play perfect on default it is screwed up. Well have fun. I am going to stop before I get banned. Im just tired of all the nagative post about nothing. There are just a few of us MOM players and you and people like you are ruining it with continuous negative commentsComment

I just continued playing my offline franchise mode for the first time since the patch and its ruined pitching for me somehow. I used meter, default pitching so you simply push X once for the speed and then again for the accuracy except the game doesn't register my second button press. Going through menus and the like works perfectly fine and even the first button press (for pitch speed) has no lag, but that second press never comes even close to when I physically push the button. Anyone else have or hear of this problem?Comment

I've reached the point where I play a game or two after the patch to see what changes if any have been made to game play. First game was 2-1 in 11 innings with a total of 7 hits for both teams. Small sample size but given the lack of offense in manage mode previously it appears offense as no better and possible worse than before.
Oh well.Comment

Honestly I don't blame people for having no faith in sliders. In other sports games, sliders are basically placebos, there to just make the player feel better. It's not outside the realm of reason for people to expect The Show to be just like all the other sports games they've played where they have to wait for patches to save their game.
The Show is different people. There is a reason why people get caught up in slideritis, and it's because they work. They work and fiddling with the game can get addictive.
Edit: btw game is playing great for me post-patch. Did they reduce fielder speed? I'm not complaining I'm actually loving it but I'm just curious.Last edited by TheWarmWind; 06-28-2017, 08:38 PM.Comment

I see people posting that "after three games" and that becomes their basis for making a decision on sliders. Honestly, I believe it may be more attention deficit with some gamers. If sliders don't make a difference just look at the gamers who have taken the attributes of their teams players and jacked them up so that they hit a ton of home runs. I've seen it with several gamers here. The game offers an abundance of options for gamers.
Patches have nothing to do with sliders.Comment

Did I say every post has to be positive. Where in that above statement do you see that? Every time that guy post something its negative. Thats all I said. I am glad you are so attentive thoughComment

The reason I don't pursue the elusive slider set is because there are 50 different slider sets on the slider forum all attempting to achieve the same thing. If it was that easy there wouldn't be so many different sets and if the developers with access to the code can't figure it out I have little confidence in myself to figure it out.
There are other issues which sliders won't fix like the amateur draft, progression/regression, runners advancing on wild pitches, balls curving excessively etc.
That's why "shut up and adjust sliders" doesn't work for me. Truth is franchise mode and realistic game play seem to have taken a back seat to the aspects of the game which sell beyond the $60 dollars I spend annually. It is a beautiful game which has major flaws.≡Comment

Is there anyone who plays with the game and doesn't touch ONE slider. Probably not. It is absolutely impossible...impossible...to make a game out of the box that suits everyone's abilities, foibles. Again, impossible. Are there people who DO play on default? Sure, that's because those sliders fit their needs.
But you keep posting that you won't and you keep getting the same results thinking SDS might "fix" the game for you. Ain't gonna happen. And I don't think anyone told you to "shut up", but you keep beating a dead horse (for you).
Only recommendation is stop downloading everyone else's sliders, come up with your own. If you can't.......then the game just flat out isn't for you. But to continually put this on the developers? They's bent over backwards when it comes to options/sliders/attribute sliders.Comment
