Uniforms Need to be Overhauled

Gotta say.. The refrigerators are looking pretty red in the Legend trailer... Even on night games, still looked good. Rangers alternate was a bit dark but that could’ve been an old build. BoSox looked great as did the Angels against the A’s night game. Also, A’s green looks a bit better.

I agree I wonder why they have not updated them yet it's been 2 seasons since the umpires had all new uniforms. Looks like we will have to wait at least until MLB The Show 19 if not later.

Guys I can see that red was changed in the last stream - cubs red used to be that dark *** ugly red. The stream last week the jersey was almost PERFECT - I’m 99.9% sure red is fixed y’all

Don’t go exclaiming that anything has changed. They said they fixed things last year and gave examples and then the game shipped and they were as bad as ever.

We also need to see these colors in different lighting and conditions. The fact that the developers are now claiming that this is a non issue should further show to everyone that nothing may be fixed in the final product, or somehow it may all be fixed.

But we do know that if it hasn’t been fixed in the next week or so it won’t be for ‘18.

I agree that last year they said it was fixed and it looked fixed at times during the later streams, but wasn’t on release. Difference is, they showed night game footage where the red still looked red. I don’t recall seeing that last year. Night game footage at Fenway and the Coliseum, plus day game footage of the BoSox, Angels, and Nationals. Along with various differences in lighting. Obviously I’m holding my final thoughts until release and I see them myself first hand, but I feel much more confident this year than before.

I’d feel better if they’d acknowledge the issue in the first place, like they were doing last year. The positives I’ve seen have been when the baselayer (undershirts) seemingly match the jerseys, hats and socks in color. That’s when I know it is the proper shade.

But I still would like to know what happened with last year and then taking the time to adjust things, showing us the proof, and then shipping a game that didn’t have any of the fixes in it. It’s so frustrating when you’re watching a real game at the same time as playing this video game and you see the colors being that far off. Especially colors like the Pirates black jerseys. When they are charcoal and not that deep black, it really looks wrong. And the yellow is so washed out. Ruins the immersion completely.

I will say, the new grass and dirt looked good from the deep dive streams we have seen thus far. So that’s good.

So a friend today asked me "Is there a specific thing that will 100% convince you the colors have been improved to the level you want?"

And my answer was: to see the Blue Jays playing an outdoor game in their red jerseys, in a clip that lasts more than a split second.

While I think most here would agree with that answer, I was curious if anyone had a different answer?

I agree with that. But I also want to see Nationals outdoor. And a night game.

I could be wrong and probably am but I have a feeling the team logos on the catchers helmets while fielding will be returning for the PS4 Pro version only.

I think this only because in the streams and video sometimes the team logo is there and other times it's still missing.

Doubt it’s any different depending on console. Since it’s the same files and same game shipping to everyone.

More likely is that they keep showing different builds of the game for these shots and videos. At some point the art team may have added back the logos to those helmets and they mix those clips in with older ones to produce these trailers and clips.

Its still the same game. There is no PS4 and PS4 pro version so the content is the same. I think the reason for the inconsistencies is that they use older and newer footage for the trailers. The game is still a work in progress.

Looking at a few of the shots of the Orioles in the footage we have seen so far I am noticing that the Orioles orange seems off. The orange alternates look fine but the road unis and in the legends video the orange on the jerseys seems too dark.

The way I understood this is that the Braves have used a darker navy on the field and a lighter navy on things like digital applications, their website, magazines, etc etc and this change is more to get consistency across the board on all platforms. So the only significant changes will be to make all the OFF field stuff actually match the uniforms. Therefore, the uniforms themselves will virtually look exactly the same.
