I do World War 2 reenacting as a hobby. Something as simple as a Coke bottle, or an SUV in the background can shatter the illusion of 1944, something reenactors work hard to attain.

So I can see why classic uniforms that are supposed to be pullover can take you out of the moment of Nolan Ryan throwing heat in 1986, or Dwight Smith breaking in with the Cubs in 1989. It would indeed be nice if they would fix those.

Or non-baggy pants for throwbacks.
High pants are fine, but I'd love to see old-school baggy pants.

Adam bud... Can the Reds & Red Sox red be looked at as well? A lot darker than should be.

I compiled images of the red uniforms from yesterday's stream. Obviously these are not 100% accurate due to compression, etc. But it is all we have right now to work with.



It looks like the Red Sox red has been adjusted, as well as the Nationals' red. I can't comment about the accuracy of them, but they do look improved.

I still feel like the Angels' red is still should be more vibrant. They seem about the same as last year, and like MCville27 said, the vibrancy we see on in person and on TV just isn't coming through in game.

The Toronto Canada Day uniforms still seem too dark.

I'm not going to even attempt to post real life comparison shots, because there is no way to recreate the lighting in the uniform select screen, but I just wanted to post this as a reference as this is the most recent images of the red jerseys we have to work with.

Please look at the following as I feel they are glaring examples of colors/jerseys being inaccurate:

1. Blue Jays Red Alt- discussed at length every 2nd post on here. Won’t beat that horse anymore.

2. The Atlanta Braves Jerseys look as if they have been machine washed every day, since they moved from Milwaukee. Clear example, compare in game the red and blue on the hat (which look phenomenal btw) to that on the jersey. So faded/washed.

3. Front number placement. Best example of this is pull up Ryan Braun, in the home whites for the Brewers. Look where you have the #8 vs where it actually is on the real assets.

4. Finally too many batting helmets have off colored dots on the top. I’m not sure if any teams still do that? Although I do seem to recall a few that may.

5. And a personal pet peeve of mine is the wrinkle that runs through the Cubs Logo on the home whites. That is a solid circle stitching, and should not fold and wrinkle like it does in The Show. The batting helmet C is not thick enough, and the hat C is too thick in my opinion. And as mentioned the blue in general could be lighter.

Any settings we can change on our TV’s or in game to get more accurate colors in 17? I’d be willing to change some stuff.

Ive done that. But other colors end up being incorrect because of it.

Yup, the point is we shouldn't have to change our TV settings when they are fine for literally everything else.

I don't know if it'll be in 18 but I'd like to see the Cubs 1990 Away uniform. I think they only used that away jersey that one year. It had the All Star game patch on the sleeve. I think it was a really clean uniform.

I want these. They wore them a few years ago during Wrigley's 100th season.

Hey guys, posting this here because I know all that are passionate about uniforms and their accuracy will see this.

We're going to ask that you please try and refrain from posting about uniform colors and details in other threads and try and keep them in this one.

We've see a few threads derailed with discussion about color accuracy which is taking away from other conversation in that thread.


Really asking this as a favor so those that aren't as concerned about uniform accuracy can go through the threads on the streams and new info without having to go through discussion about just uniforms.

Let me know if you have concerns with this or if you don't think this is a reasonable ask. I just think centering that conversation in one thread would be more beneficial for everyone (including developers) all around.



STRONG EDIT: I want to be clear in my ask in that I am in no way suggesting that any of the discussion is wrong or inappropriate in any fashion. I don't want anyone to think I'm trying to segregate uniform discussion to one thread because I don't deem it important (not true). I just want to clean up some of the threads a bit and there is storm coming soon so I'm just trying to get ahead of it.
