    Re: Gamestop Monday #2: Presentation

Man, the more videos I watch the more I think this game looks incredible and can't wait for March 23rd!
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I'll concede the no-names actually getting names thing mentioned above, but I don't see that as a strong enough reason to call someone who works a very high-profile job into the SDS recording booth during the season (actually, I'm pretty sure Matt would just laugh at that notion)
I dont disagree, theres no reason to record during the season at all for Franchise mode. Too numerous to mention the amount of different sports game who have pulled it off.

I'm sure this isn't a popular opinion but they might be better off hiring voice actors to get the best performances (especially for emotional moments. Records, championships, late game comebacks, etc.) rather than professional announcers who have never acted before. Plus I bet you'd be able to get a lot more studio time with VO actors and at lower cost so you could record a lot more lines.

I am for anything/anyone who will make the commentary sound like we are at a real game and in the booth together will make it more realistic sounding IMO. I don't care who is in the booth as long as it flows with the game and is interesting , insightful and funny if needs be.I am excited for this years game and think it is a step in the right direction.

Every time i think of Reynolds, I dread remembering his boring lines describing pitchers stats before they start.

It really doesn't matter if they get Morgan Freeman or Jesus Christ himself in the booth. Until they revamp the approach and do a better job creating the commentary, it won't ever really sound any better. And this preview sounds like more of the same, honestly. Still too much rambling about nonsense, not enough concise sentences and not enough dead air to let the game speak for itself.

Wasn't DeRosa interviewed for the Nationals managerial opening a few months back? How odd would it have been had he gotten the job and then did commentary as you were playing a Nationals game.

Dynamic crowds in franchise is great thing. Really hoping they do this right.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

101% doubt he would have ever been an option for SDS!

Unless commentary is recorded way in advance. It's possible he did the commentary for this game before even being considered for the Nationals opening.

Wasn't that the case with Steve Kerr several years ago?

                            Edit: Yep!

He remains a commentator in NBA 2K15 despite becoming the Golden State Warriors coach for the 2014–15 season several months prior to the game's release.

(it's wiki of course, but this ought to be able to be verified on this forum by anyone who played the game)

Aw man, haven't played MLB since 15, but am planning on getting it this year and would have liked to see Harold Reynolds in the game.

Ah well, I generally play with commentary off anyways, so not a hig deal.
