    Re: Gamestop Monday #2: Presentation

OK really not sure what to think right now after seeing this!

On one hand I am SUPER exited that they FINALLY recorded all 3 commentators together in the booth with hopefully lots and lots of hours of recording time. In fact I am hoping they completely removed all the old scripted lines from all of the commentators including Matty V and 18 will have 100% all new commentary. However is it just me or did they still sound kind of dull and scripted in that very short video preview? And why was Harold Reynolds replaced after only one year? And is Mark DeRosa really going to be any better then what Harold Reynolds bright to the game?

I just want MLB The Show commentary to finally sound way more like real life and what 2K Sports does for its Basketball and previously for their baseball games!!!

As far as the other things mentioned in the video the new replay system sounds very promising. Not only fast/real time replays but I also hope perhaps along with that they have more and better angles of the replays and also hopefully they don't get cut off to quickly and let the whole play be replayed in full! Also more crowd animations is always welcomed!

Hearing nothing about Pre and or Post game shows, Female on field reporter and new broadcasts presentation is disappointing.

This was a tiny preview of what we will see on Thursday "Hopefully" so I will hold major judgment until then. But saying I am a bit underwhelmed would be an understatement

Crossing all my fingers what we see this coming Thursday will get all of us very excited!

New scorebug for one of the presentations.

Was hoping for a Fox Sports baseball style where it shows the Pitcher and batters names on it but o well this one still looks nice and a little different from 17 scorebug.

I know it's more then likely not happening but I am hoping that's what they did.

I'll take the specific season commentary for your team or player (hopefully works with Player Lock) but the funny thing is I play 17 with the commentary completely turned off. I am used to playing MLB The Show this way now! So I was really hoping for stadium noise and crowd noise level and reactions to be improved this year.

Just watched game 3 of Royals vs Mets! Wow that crowd is so pumped in the first inning! I would love to play a version of MLB The Show in that sounded like that!

Its odd, wondering if he just didn't want to be a part of it.

I am not 100% sure but I think Russell may have said in either the IGN or gamestop videos that crowd reaction AI was also improved this year?

                  I could be wrong though.

He did, and it sounded that way. It was a bit of an inappropriate moment, though. The Diamondbacks got two runners on with no outs, and they were the road team. Then the crowd started riling up. I understand they can get noisy in those scenarios as well, but it's not like it was the big hitter and they had two strikes on the batter.

Of course, around that time it was also noted that it's in its WIP stage, so that kind of stuff is expected. But yes, I think we'll get more appropriated crowd engagement this year.

I got the PS4 hooked up to 24 inch set and a sat dish on a small 19 inch set, while playing the game the smaller tv has a real mlb or nhl game on and I'm listening to that.

Rarely have the audio of the show on while playing.

I never liked the 3 man booth would prefer a 2 man booth with a studio show or on field reporter.

They did that last year too - one shorted the last names.

I too love listing to real MLB broadcasts TV or radio while playing MLB The Show. And in the summertime I love having my windows open and smelling my neighbors barbecuing, drinking beer and smoking. It really helps make me feel I am at the ball park when playing lol

I actually like what I see from this preview.

                              - I understand everybody disliking DeRosa replacing Harold Reynolds, but I’m thinking the new trio recording in the same booth will make the commentary more fresh and fluid.

                              - Liking the new replays they showed. Looked like some new camera angles and I’m always up for variation in that aspect.

                              - Hoping for some new pre game and postgame (especially postgame) presentations. The player interview/spotlight has been the same for a few years and definitely needs an upgrade in my opinion.

Look forward to hearing more this week.

I like what they've added but it's a bit limited if what is in the video is the full extent of the presentation improvements and I also enjoyed Reynolds more than any of the other commentators.

What I am/was really hoping for was a much more intense, explosive highlight reel of the big moments, fast paced with angles that get you excited - whether this is what they're describing in the video and what we will get, I have no idea. If you watch a real game you are less likely to see a full highlight (the ball being hit, flying through the air and into the stand) and more likely to see a rapid fire cut shot of each. Who knows, maybe that's what they've done. Sounds a bit picky, I know, but if you play a full 162 game season then repetition can become a pain so I was hoping for different pre-game intros especially with pre-game or post-game analysis from the booth.

I also wanted more stat overlays other than just the familiar batter walk-up nameplate and stats. Again, maybe they've added more and we just haven't seen them yet.
