I'm in the same boat. And with this nor'easter hitting us in the Mid-Atlantic I wouldn't be surprised if everything gets pushed back another day or two once it's actually shipped. Would be nice if BB and Amazon would err on the side of caution when they shipped pre-orders even if it meant more people received their items a bit early.

Same boat for me. But in my experience with The Show they have always shipped it the day before release with overnight shipping and I’ve gotten it on release day. Of course that’s always been a Tuesday in the past. If it hasn’t shipped by tomorrow morning I will chat with customer support to make sure it ships overnight.

Since this thread is a mix of all things pre-order / preload related....

The preload's live. Go to your library and find The Show '18 in purchases, you should see the download button. The download appears to be in 2 parts again - the 7.7 GB "Quick Launch" part that normally only lets you play 2 teams until the game fully downloads, and the remaining part of the 50-ish GB total size of the game. They'll both download if you let it go, and the game should be fully playable for you at midnight EDT on the 23rd.

I saw my PS4 downloading the 7.7 GB part last night and it finished.
However I didn't see it start another larger part. I just signed on to PSN and there's no option to start another download or that anything is downloading now. How do I check what has or hasn't been downloaded?

I wondered the same thing. I do have good internet, but it seemed awful fast downloading this morning. When I check the 'information' it does show 51.66 gb so I assume it's fully downloaded?

It's more than likely already completely done - because I don't have very fast internet (10 mbps down) and mine is almost done, like within the next hour or so. Roughly a 13-14 hour download at those speeds. If you have faster internet than that, it will almost certainly have taken less time.

Thanks. I do have 150 mbps (which often runs at 170+ mbps downloading), and the game does say it's 51.66 GB, so should be good to go at 10 pm MDT tomorrow. It's (nearly) Show Time!

There are other places to check this, but if you go from the PS4 home screen into Settings/Storage/Applications you should see MLB The Show 18 with its 51.66 GB size, listed alongside everything else installed on your system. That should be enough to tell you that it's fully installed and just waiting for tomorrow night.

I hit the download at 5pm West Aussie time

Just got a message on my PS4 that due to server issues I got a 24hr delay before being allowed to play. Fully downloaded so it must be tied to the online stuff.

Do you need internet access to play physical copy of game?

Or do you need internet to download the rest of the game that isn’t on the disc

I just got a call reminding me about the First Pitch Weekend, but he said I can come and get it at 9PM Friday night. That isn't correct is it? Like, everyone who already has it preloaded gets to play it starting Friday morning at midnight, right? So GameStop preorders have to wait 21 hours after everyone else?

Yeah, that doesn't make any sense. I'm sure the info on the call was wrong and you can pick it up Thursday night at 9. I'd just call back and try to clarify it with them.
