I wanted to add to the disappointment after finally getting a answer 2 weeks before launch. I have been playing the show since 2011 coming from XBOX 360 myself with a few friends where we play for years the garbage 2k put out. I have done rosters for league purposes only, ran great baseball leagues with what we had for many , many years. I have stay in touch with DEVS Kyle and Lorne thru the last few years. I kept asking over and over this year about online franchise, broadcast mode etc for online leagues to never get an answer. It is a sad day for die hard baseball fans who only play this game online to be or run a online league. I get my answer by stumbling on this thread and after googling it because I still can not believe this is how we get treated for sticking with them for years. I am responsible for so many features getting added to online franchise like real MLB schedule, instead of 1 home 1 away game the way it was in the beginning, the player search feature etc. I am beyond disappointed and like many here have said play MLB THE SHOW 17 since it had broadcast, Hybrid or Fast play presentation that was in all games until 16 they removed it to bring that back in MLB 17 to just removed the whole mode all together for 18 is unacceptable. Yes w can still play 17 for online franchise but for how long? until they decommission it! MLB 15 was decommissioned already last year, MLB 16 it still up and running, but how long until 17 will be taken down?

MLB ON FOX: Online Franchise has been around since 2012, MLB ON FOX ROSTERS has been around just as long. I have did Height & Weight changes for years and sent those in and I have done my own pitch edit chart for 2 years. I am walking away from this game and this company for good they just lost a fan, a supporter and someone that gave wish list each year to try and make the game better.

I will not play or support this game any longer they made a BOLD decision to pull the plug on this mode, but in reality they flipped the switch to OFF on many of us. Not very cool at all. I will be moving on and helping another company improve there game year in and year out like I try to do for MLB THE SHOW.

Simply not true. They rewrote the entire server code and Online Franchise didn't have time to be put back in.



That's not caring about the money. That's prioritizing servers over the mode for now. It will be back.

The mode needed serious help. This may be the way to get it, even if it means removing it for a year and getting the servers up to snuff.

Please this development team knew long ago that it didn’t make the cut but chose to with hold that information if this group chooses to give them pass on this I promise ya it’s demise of Os sports mlb the show and SDS as well watch n see cause they didn’t add nothing to offline either and DD should have been added to Offline when it was added to the game but no one but me wants to call them out on that .......

Ya know, maybe Online Franchise would've been more popular if they addressed the issues, updated it, and the servers weren't so horrible. Funny how that works....I always wanted to play, but every time I gave it another chance, it was a lag/bug fiesta...

Yeah, it's great they re-built the servers and the code...but why wait so long to do it? The lag and other server issues have plagued The Show for years. In terms of lag, MLB 2K10 played like a dream online compared to The Show, but I just told myself, "be patient, SDS will get it right eventually"...that was 8 years ago, lol...

It feels weird to applaud them for something that should've been done at least half a decade ago...especially when that means they rip Online Franchise out in the process...and we don't even know yet what the servers will actually be like this year. I'll believe it when I see it.

Sadly, the one online mode I'm the most interested in playing doesn't exist any more to test this year, so yeah...bummer.

It's crystal clear from the wording there, it was simply a cut feature, and they didn't wanna spend time getting it ready to go with their new net code. They said point blank it was a decision they knowingly made, and it was 'impossible to leave in the previous iteration without alteration' meaning they didn't alter it, because they didn't prioritize on it. What you're saying is the exact opposite of what they said, so I'd like to know where you're getting that outside of stuff you made up.

If any DEV gets my benefit of the doubt and full TRUST of what they are doing, it's SCEA.

Will it be back? Who knows.

Bottom line is if they can't get it to work better there's no use for it to be there anyways.
I'd rather them attack it head on with a possibility of it returning better than ever than it be same ole same ole..

same with my brother. Was looking forward to it.

This smells of money. Franchise modes don't make extra money. Until the gaming community revolts, all these after market micro transactions will be the focus of almost all games.

This is tough news for everyone who enjoyed playing the show in this fashion. I know many where this was the only mode they touched in the whole game. Unfortunately the writing was on the wall a few years back when the mode basically stood at a standstill and really did not progress at all. To me I thought it was a mistake to make this mode a carbon copy of its offline counterpart. Ultimately, I think that is what lead to its demise realizing that may have not been the best direction. It needed to be its own creation and did not need the level of complexity offline has.

While I agree with the decision to put the mode out of its misery for it to be reimagined, I don't agree the execution of how they are getting there. There was a very faithful following for this mode, one that was extremely frustrating to play because of its issues but people exercised patience because of the enjoyment of playing in a controlled group environment. At the very least there should have been a very barebones league setup offered to the group to still be able to play in this controlled.environment during the transition. To offer nothing does not feel right.

I am highly confident the mode will return and be far more functional.

It was a mess. Kudos to those that were able to find a way to make it work. But it simply was atrocious.

So give them a cycle to work it out and deliver something up to the higher standards we are used to with this game.

Continue playing 17 for online franchise in the meantime if that is the only mode you play.

The mode was a disaster and needed to be overhauled. I’ll give this development team the benefit of the doubt here. I do believe online franchise will return.

You don't see the way you come across? "They don't care about us! It's all about money! We're forgotten!" It was already stated the reason why. The entire online code was rewritten which didn't leave enough time to rewrite online franchise. That explanation is not good enough for you. Instead you complain that they are all out to get you. Even if it is completely overhauled and brought back better than ever it still wouldn't be good enough for you. I've seen the entitlement in all areas in this place for 9 years. You haven't. Nobody is out to get you and ruin your gaming life.
