Re: Do you guys get bored with MLB The Show?
I don't get bored at all. I didn't play '17 because there were aspects that I didn't like, but it had nothing to do with boredom.
I just completed my 3rd season on '16 playing every single game from Spring Training to the last out whether it be at the regular season or sometime in the playoffs.
I am a baseball fanatic, and in my opinion, the Show does an amazing job of replicating the sport that I love.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Do you guys get bored with MLB The Show?
SDS isnt going to reinvent the game of baseball. Bunts aren't gonna be changed to punts and they aren't going to bring steals, assists & rebounds over from basketball. Well, not rebounds anyway. Carry over saves probably also circumvent wholesale changes within franchise mode, which is why there has to be some semblance of continuity. I think small tweaks each year is about what we should reasonably expect.Do it. (Release The Show for PC)Comment

Re: Do you guys get bored with MLB The Show?
The boredom culprit mainly would be due to the presentation and atmosphere I believe. Not so much the gameplay.
The good news is from what we've been seeing in the streams, it looks like they improved in a lot of those facets this year. Hopefully it is their plan moving forward to keep building on it as one of the main focus points going into each version of the series.
The new tagging system and other little things are going to help with that nuance as well.

Re: Do you guys get bored with MLB The Show?
Even though i still enjoy playing the game i am still on the fence about purchasing 18, atm the only info that excites me is the changes to presentation. I just hope there some major improvements with franchise this or at least next year. I felt the same way with 15, i ended up purchasing 15 but decided that was it, the only thing that changed my mind on 16 was the return of SoTS.Comment

Re: Do you guys get bored with MLB The Show?
I used to get bored when I just played franchise. But since I switched over to DD 2 years ago I’ve been addicted all summer long.

Re: Do you guys get bored with MLB The Show?
I did get bored with The Show 17 but that had more to do with commentary/presentation and lack of meaningful additions to franchise mode. Now this year the announcers recorded together plus the stories that will play out during the games has me excited.
I’m hopeful for a few new things in this years franchise mode that isn’t just quicker ways to get through franchise mode.MLB: Chicago Cubs

NHL: Chicago Blackhawks
NBA: Chicago Bulls

Re: Do you guys get bored with MLB The Show?
i wish in the future they could make a game like GTA open world with football or baseball for RTTS where you can buy mansions and clothes and cars and have to drive to trigger the game like a mission. I haven't played RTTS in awhile but it seems like it would put a reason to want big contracts. That would make it never stale lolComment

Re: Do you guys get bored with MLB The Show?
I hate to say it, but I'm in the camp of those that feel like The Show has become very stale. I'm usually rearing to go for the next version, having pre ordered as soon as I can. This year I haven't pretty ordered and am wondering if I'll even pick up the game.
The Show at one point had the most beautiful graphics of all games, but that has since been surpassed by 2k and even Madden. Franchise and RttS are stale (the improvements this year really haven't impressed me), and DD went from a cool fantasy league in its first year to a game where you now have to get 125 overall players to compete. DD also appears to be 60 to 70 percent of their focus.
I also think that these boards come into play a little bit. When I first came over to this side in 2009, the vast majority of threads and posters were mature and full of great conversation. Now, it is more polerized than ever, and I feel there is no middle ground: one has to be 100 percent on SCEA's side or 100 percent disgusted with the game. There are very few middle ground moments here anymore, and that kills the buzz for me.
I have a friend at work who has shown me his OOTP fantasy league, and I've started to dabble more and more in it. I may pick up the new Show at some point this year, but OOTP has become a wonderful game, and their new trailer has got me as excited as the I ld Show trailers at the turn of the decade. That's where I stand right now.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

Re: Do you guys get bored with MLB The Show?
I really never do. This is the one sports game I can play 6-7 games in a row and love it. Madden is repetitive, 2k repetitive. The Show has new pitchers, lineups, stadiums etc. Keeps the game fresh every time. It also could be my love for baseball.
I feel the show is the sports game that leaves most of the result in the users hand, not AI.
I play 10+ seasons a year. 40+ games a season. Love it.Comment
