Regardless how many play, hardcore franchise players are the minority. Phases is bringing out a much needed facelift and hopefully will bring more players in which would be a win win for anyone.

How do other players starting play franchise mode a win for me? That facelift is basically just slapping a new coat of paint on everything. So now I have to go figure out where the same stuff I already do is. Awesome.

Using the logic that SDS has used in the past - the more people that play a mode, the more resources that mode gets in future iterations of the game.

Therefore, if the Phases feature gets more people to play Franchise mode, future versions of The Show will have more resources dedicated to updating Franchise mode.

I like Phases because after playing Franchise for a couple months. You start to appreciate a clean and well organized mode.

With the displays looking clean and the player models bigger with better detail on the matchup screen, I think this is the stuff that I'll enjoy all year. I loved last years game, but as time went on I wasn't a big fan of the way it was set up. Especially the dark blue background without really anything eye-catching and engaging.

I feel like the the new interface along with Phases will be more appreciated as time wears on. And people get over the fact that a feature they were hoping for didn't make the game.

Don't get me wrong, I think it looks better, but is that all we should expect? I mean it will be cool for an hour or two maybe till you realize you are doing the exact same thing. Offline franchise and dynasty modes are the cornerstone of all sports game. You can't make me believe the number of franchise players, whether online or offline, is not a significant amount of players. The whole company was mostly built by players playing offline franchise mode. Nothing added this year in franchise mode warrants a full priced game.

Now online has been scrapped and barely anything was done to offline so it's basically less franchise content than last year.

I hope this is true, but I still believe the number of franchise players is significant enough already to warrant more improvements then we have gotten in say.... the last 3 or 4 years. It seems like I have been thinking, well, maybe next year they will fix this for a loooong time. Just, for example, how long have we had trades be between only 2 teams with 3 players each with no cash considerations? Trading in this game is terrible compared to actual MLB baseball, and this is a game that boasts to be the most realistic game in sports. That's without even mentioning the terrible logic.(which the say has been fixed....I have my doubts) Don't even get me started on the stats. Stats are a HUGE part of baseball.

Don't confuse my negativity with hate. I will still eventually buy this game and play 100s of hours because I absolutely love baseball. But I have decided to hold off for a couple of months, at least till the OSFM rosters come out anyway. And that is sad to me..... I should be excited about buying this at midnight and staying up all night.

Yes, it is estimated that there are over 15 million PS4's in the United States that are not connected to the internet.

Who's to say how many of those people play The Show or not? They are not connected so there is no data. Whether it's 50 players, 500 players or 5,000 players, they are still playing hundreds, maybe thousands of games in Franchise mode and other offline modes that are not being counted. To just dismiss these players, like SDS is doing by only focusing on modes that are playing primarily online, is not right.

Seeing as the show only sold a little over a million copies, I'm guessing it isn't millions

Who's to say how many of those people play The Show or not? They are not connected so there is no data. Whether it's 50 players, 500 players or 5,000 players, they are still playing hundreds, maybe thousands of games in Franchise mode and other offline modes that are not being counted. To just dismiss these players, like SDS is doing by only focusing on modes that are playing primarily online, is not right.

Telemetry data does not need a constant internet connection. The program within the game will collect and package the data and anytime it detects an internet connection like for an update for example, it will send it out. I don't know how the show does it but I am sure it is done similarly.

I think there's like 19 phases? Anybody got a complete list of what/where on the schedule they are? Before today I didnt think there would be more than 7 or 8

I hate the coat of paint comment, it's just not accurate. I have seen it in a bunch of times.

- Improved retirement logic
- Improved bullpen logic
- Better gameplay - hitting engine, tags, etc.
- Better and more realistic CAPs - they look wayyy better
- Batting stance editor
- Enhanced presentation w/ more stadium tagging
- Phases which may be a coat of point but it looks really nice
- Rain delays w/ new fog that looks sick. Along with more realistic weather patterns. Rain stopping and starting.


And there's a ton more that impact Franchise and other modes. We may not have got all the features we wanted but the game is certainly improved. I would like to see relocation/expansion but thats being held back by create-a-stadium. Which I think we'll get eventually but who knows when.

Same here. Paint is good, coats are good, hate it that's usually used disparagingly.

That explanation would work if it hadn't been years now since we've seen, not new features, but existing ones that work right. I mean, I hope I live long enough to be able to make a 3 team trade.

Please point out the new franchise improvements. That is why I made the post. I have looked at articles and youtube videos but I don't have the time to "research" it, or spend a hour watching someone else play online.

Most of those things are said every year. I didn't know about rain delays though. That is a good add at least.

Look, I'm not asking for much, just a few features that already exist in the game to work correctly. That would be plenty to make me happy. Honestly I would rather be able to make a 3 team trade or have some more stats than a rain delay though.
