First-time player here. Right now I prefer either the quick manage or full manage options for my franchise play. When I do the full manage, I don't have time to do every pitch, so I've been resorting to the "fast forward" option in the pause menu for several innings, going back and forth between that and actually being in the game. Does anyone have thoughts on how this works in general vs. the simulation that happens in the the quick manage setting? The one thing I've noticed is that it will yank your pitcher sometimes before you actually want to. Anything else that people have noticed? Are results realistic vs. simulation? Are they basically the same thing? Thanks for any input.

Re: The Show 18 Q&A Thread.
Okay, question time...
I have played ten games now, and am getting ready to lock in my slider set, and I realized that after playing two games with identical starting lineups and pitchers, as a way to get a better base for slider testing, that I may have stumbled upon something.
Is it possible that the PCI, which I don't look at or see, as I play clean screen, changes within the at bat, based on the count?
So, let's say JD Martinez gets down 0-2, does his ZOI (my made up Zone of Influence) change dynamically because he is in a pitcher's count, and his plate coverage shrinks as he is in a minus-situation? Conversely, if he is up in the count 3-1 and looking to ambush a fastball, does his ZOI get larger, based on his plus-situation?
My questions stems from the fact that in game one, I purposely set the controller on my lap until the CPU threw a strike. So, as one might expect, I started to see some very favorable counts, and as a result, I hit three homeruns, including a dead-center absolute bomb with J.D. and a missile to right by Benentendi. I won that game handily, and the starter for the Rays was gone by inning three.
The next game, I found myself not being as patient at the plate, and as a result, the Ray's pitcher had only thrown 33 pitches through five innings, and I could not square a ball up to save my life. I ended up getting shellacked, and mustered three hits the entire game.
So, perhaps as a combination of the pitcher's confidence, and my getting into bad batter's counts, was there an under-the-hood reduction of the plate coverage, ie. ZOI that fueled my ineptitude at the plate, or do we chalk it up to the "variable stuff" of yesterlore, that seemed to include a pre-game dice roll on how the game would play out, based on overall malaise, or hustle respectively?
If there is some sort of voodoo in there, and there are dynamic changes based on situational advantages throughout the game, then kudos to the person(s) that figured out how to mimic the ebb and flow of baseball... if it is a placebo effect, and I was just swinging at crap pitches, that's okay too... it just seemed like the batter-pitcher advantage seemed to really play out well when I took the time to be patient and look for pitches to drive.
thoughts, questions and comments please.

The PCI definitely does change in size. Sometimes it has to do with quirks, like if you have a hitter with the first pitch boost. But I also think it may change based on confidence. So later in a game if a starter is in too long the PCI will start to creep out. Also quite possible it changes depending on the count.

Is there something I'm missing I'm having a heck of a time figuring out how to get Legends in franchise. They look beautiful this year especially Babe Ruth

Re: The Show 18 Q&A Thread.
Quick question ... I hope. I'm very new to the OSFM rosters -- what an amazing add-on to the game -- thanks again for all the hard work.
Now, my question -- I noticed w/ the White Sox that MiLB P Dane Dunning was missing. I saw a Tweet from Ridin stating anyone who'd like to add him should go to the vault and DL via SouthSideSox05. I did that last night, but I can't figure out how to import Dunning into the OSFM V1.5 roster. Can someone explain how I can do it?
Thanks!Comment

Re: The Show 18 Q&A Thread.
You have to sign them in the off season, but guys will be pretty quick to sign if they are happy with your offer during the exclusive negotiating period (it lasts 5 days). I've never had an issue (outside of finances) resigning guys.Comment

Re: The Show 18 Q&A Thread.
Is there any way of being able to find out what level dynamic difficulty is currently set at? Seems like it only pops up during the gameplay when it changes and if you miss it there’s no other way of checking.Comment

Re: The Show 18 Q&A Thread.
so what you have to do is from the main menu load the osfm roster. then go into roster control and select the white sox. then there are different options for you to mess with the rosters, you select manage/import players. then select a pitcher you don't want and scroll to where it says import pitcher and select that and then it should open up to where you can select dane dunning. after that you need save your rosterComment
