Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
Thanks, man. I make them on photoshop. It takes me a while to put together the format but once I get it it only takes me 45 minutes to an hour to type one all up.
I’ve always loved doing stuff like this. I used to run a site on Dynasty Manager and then Dynasty Nation for quite a while.

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
Two days away from the draft and I'm continuing to get slammed by injuries in my Jays franchise.
JA Happ will make his first start back from his trip on the 60 day DL, and Teoscar Hernandez is only a few days away, but last night, Troy Tulowitzki (unsurprisingly) hurt himself on a play at short, and will miss the next 2-3 months with cartilage damage. Earlier in the game, Russell Martin hurt his knee sliding into 2nd, and will miss the next few games.
It's unfortunate because Tulo had bounced back after a rough April of .198/.303/.325 to push his line up to .265/.345/.452, and his defence has been gold glove caliber all year.
On the plus side though, it's time to call up Bo Bichette. Bo will join Vlad Jr. and Lourdes Gurriel Jr., to show off what the future of our infield may look like.2025 Expos Expansion:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1295163793Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
I still have some pages on Dynasty Nation. I really wish people would get into it more. It’s awesome. But the lack of community kills it.
I wish there was a way to have DN and the OS community in one. We actually tried it a few years back but it sort of fell through.

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
Wow, what a game today. Pirates led 3-1 in the bottom of the ninth but we were able to scrap together 2 runs with 2 outs to tie the game at 3.
Bottom of the 11th Rizzo hits a walk off rbi single for the win.
Meanwhile the Cards beat the Brewers 2-1. We’re down .5 game with 4 games to go. The Cardinals are off tomorrow before we start the 3 game series to determine the NL Central winner.
Cardinals 98-61
Cubs 97-61
We just surpassed our 96 win season from 2 years ago.

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
For CPU bullpens, I think I read somewhere to only have one guy in the SU spot, 4 MR's and one LR. Does this still hold true for the CPU to effectively utilize them all? Wanted to get the opinion of you guys since you've all put in some serious franchise time.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
It will be my mainly played game mode. But, I am a bit discouraged by the lack of attention it gets compared to the other game modes. I mean the intro video is still the exact same from 17. If that's any indication as to how little attention it gets. However, I absolutely love the new menu interface. I've only played 1 game but I can tell quite a difference in graphics and stadium atmosphere from 17 to 18. Hopefully this year I can complete more than 1 season. Lastly, I have issues with quite a few players OVR ratings. It's not that big of a deal to me, but I'm pretty surprised at a lot of them. Either way I'll get the cards to the promised land this year. í*½í¸
I agree this has to be the most neglected and least discussed area of the game. To me, it’s the best part of the game, and having played NBA 2k18, I’ll stay say this is the best franchise mode available. I’m five games into the preseason as the revamped Milwaukee Brewers.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
I second this question. I feel like I have read in these forums that you leave the long relief spot open at all times for all teams in order for the cpu to use their bullpen "correctly". Can anyone provide feedback on this?
I know Mike Lowe's set nailed it in regards to simmed games (SP stam @ 9 and RP stam @ 0 with cpu hook @ 7.) When playing, SP and RP both @ 5 with cpu hook at 3. Once cpu goes to pen you move the hook slider to 9.

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
Long time in between updates.
The Cardinals lost the final two games of the series to the Reds, but bounced back to take 3 of 4 from the Cubs, as our lead extends to 4 1/2 in the Central over the Pirates and Cubs. We suffered yet more injuries as Juan Fabregas broke his forearm and prospect Eddie Casilla fractured his wrist. All in all we have 10 guys currently on the DL, with 7 of those being outfielders. We are having to do some serious roster managing at the moment.
We did make a trade due to the roster:
CARDINALS GET:
IF Bryce Denton (formerly in our organization)
OF Logan Taylor
WHITE SOX GET:
1B Chris Jacobs (he needed a home with the acquisition of Brendan McCay)
3B Elehuris Montero
Trade beneficial to both teams as Chris Jacobs is the everyday DH hitter in Chicago. Here he would've just been a AAA player until someone else came along.
We are at an off day but face the NL West leading Padres for a 3 game series next.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

PIT 1-8-0
CHI 4-8-1
Arrietta and the Cubs pick up a huge win today. Rendon homered and the cCubs cruise to victory.
St.L 98-61
CHI 98-61
We’re about to kickoff a 3 game series head to head to determine the division winner. We have not had sole possession of first since May.
Loser will have a wildcard, very very likely vs the Rockies. Very possible we will see a rematch in the divisional series. However, I’d be very worried playing the Rockies, they have been a thorn in my side. Dodgers and Marlins likely should be set for the other division series.
The AL is still open but the back to back World Series champion Red Sox are in the post season. Cubs Sox round 3???

Basically a site where you can make your own team "website," for your franchise. I love it but there's just not a lot of "community," involvement over there like there is at OS. But the format is infinitely better than just posting in forums.
Here's a link to my Cubs page from last year...
